How many of you have been handed a repair estimate and thought...

"Do I really need all of this?"

The truth is, many technicians are paid based on the amount of labor they produce. Most are honest professionals, but that pay structure can create pressure to recommend more work than is truly necessary.

That's why Hook & Fix was built differently.

If we recommend a repair, we'll gladly put your vehicle on the lift, bring you out into the shop, and physically show you the failed or worn part. We'll explain what it does, why it needs attention, and whether it's something that needs to be fixed now or can safely wait.

No pressure.
No scare tactics.
No "just trust us."

We believe an informed customer is our best customer.

Today we got one of those reminders that the little things really do mean the most.

We had a customer come in who’s been going through a tough time and just needed her car fixed so she could stay mobile and make it to her appointments. We were able to help her out and give her a pretty good deal to get her back on the road.

Afterward, she left us this handwritten note, and honestly, it means more than she probably knows.
This is why we do what we do. It’s not always just about fixing cars — sometimes it’s about helping someone keep moving forward when life is already hard enough.

Thank you, Lee, for the kind words and for trusting Hook & Fix. We truly appreciate you and we’re glad we could help. Small acts of kindness go both ways, and this note made our day.

Another Carlton Fire-Rescue ambulance in the shop today. 🚑

Emergency vehicles don’t get to have “maybe later” problems. When the call comes in, they need to start, stop, light up, communicate, and do their job without question.

We’re proud to help service and maintain Carlton Fire-Rescue’s ambulances, rescue vehicles, and other department vehicles. Keeping these rigs reliable helps keep our first responders and our community safe.

Like & share to show your support for our first responders! 🚒🚑

Today we had the opportunity to help keep one of Carlton Fire-Rescue’s vehicles in top shape.

We want to take a minute to say thank you to the Carlton Fire Department and all of our first responders. These are the people who drop what they’re doing, leave their families, and show up when the rest of us are having one of the worst days of our lives. Whether it’s a fire, accident, medical emergency, bad weather, or someone simply needing help — they answer the call.

At Hook & Fix, we take a lot of pride in being trusted to service and maintain their ambulances, rescue vehicles, and other department vehicles. These units are more than just another repair job to us. They’re part of what keeps our community safe, and we understand how important it is that they stay reliable, ready, and running top notch when they’re needed most.

Luckily, we didn’t have to use the Jaws of Life to extract the technician during this repair
 although from the looks of it, he may have been halfway committed to becoming part of the engine bay. 😂

All jokes aside, we truly appreciate the work our fire departments, EMTs, law enforcement, tow operators, and emergency crews do every single day. We’re proud to support the people who support our community, and we’ll always do our best to help keep their vehicles operating safely, dependably, and ready for the next call.

Thank you again to Carlton Fire-Rescue and every first responder out there. Your work matters, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. 🚒đŸ‡ș🇾

I’m going to start charging an “overexplaining fee.” 😂

Someone asks me, “Hey, is this a good vehicle?”

So I explain that the timing chains are known for failing, the lifters are basically a worldwide red flag, the engine has common issues, the transmission has a personality disorder, and the repair bill is probably already warming up in the parking lot.

Then I point out 10 different reasons why it’s going to break down


And they still buy it because, “It’s really nice though.”

At that point, don’t ask me if it’s a good vehicle.

Ask me if it’s shiny enough to financially ruin you with confidence. 😅

More Than Just a Tow Truck

The first day our truck was back out after its fresh paint job, it did not take long before it was right back to work.

The day started with helping an elderly person get their scooter hauled safely where it needed to go. It may have been a simple job, but to that person, it mattered — and that is what this business is really about.

Later, while we were on our way home, we came across a rollover accident. Two people needed help getting out of the vehicle safely. We stopped, assisted however we could, made sure they were okay, and stayed on scene until everything was cleared and under control.
That was not a call we made money on.
That was not the reason we stopped.
We stopped because people needed help.

There have been many times where we have stayed on scene longer than required, helped customers through stressful situations, waited with people until they had a safe ride, helped secure vehicles, cleared debris, or simply made sure nobody was left alone in a bad spot.
Not every call is about profit. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is just be there.
That is what we want people to know about us. We are not just here to hook up a vehicle and leave. We care about the people involved, their safety, and their well-being.

Later that same day, we were called out to another rollover where the road had washed out and left a vehicle in a dangerous spot. Once again, the priority was making sure everyone was safe and the situation was handled the right way.
Fresh paint or not, the truck went straight back to doing what it was built to do.
It is never a dull life in towing, but we are thankful for the chance to help when it matters most.

Because of that support, Hookers Anonymous Towing is teaming up with Decker's Mobile Garage LLC so we can offer faster, more consistent service and more flexibility for our customers.

That means more help when things get busy, more options for repairs, and the ability to offer mobile service, shop work, towing, and roadside assistance with better turnaround.
