A bigger trailer can actually haul less. 👇

Here’s a simple example:

A smaller trailer has a 14,000 lb GVWR and weighs 3,000 lbs empty.

That means it can haul about 11,000 lbs.

A bigger trailer also has a 14,000 lb GVWR, but weighs 4,500 lbs empty because it has a longer deck, heavier ramps and more steel.

That means it can only haul about 9,500 lbs.

So even though the second trailer is bigger, it can haul 1,500 lbs less.

The number that matters most is payload capacity—not just trailer size.

Always check the actual specs before choosing a trailer.
