Curiosity isn't something patients need to leave at the exam room door.

Dr. Edgard Badine explains why asking questions — even about something you saw or heard outside your doctor's office — can lead to an honest, evidence-based conversation with your care team.

When you're facing cancer, it's natural to look everywhere for hope. But when a treatment or “cure” sounds promising, how do you know what to trust?

In the latest episode of Cancer Covered, Dr. Tony Jaslowski and Dr. Edgard Badine talk about why cancer cure claims gain traction, what separates a promising idea from proven treatment and the questions patients can ask when something sounds too good to be true.

Before “care close to home” was part of our mission, it meant getting in the car.

In Green Bay Oncology's early years, Dr. Paul Koch and his partners traveled across Northeast Wisconsin and into the Upper Peninsula to bring cancer care to patients who otherwise faced long drives for treatment. Sometimes, that even meant packing chemotherapy into a little black suitcase and taking it along for the ride.

A lot has changed in 50 years, but the commitment behind those trips that we're still making hasn't.

In this special episode of Cancer Covered, our three presidents look back on where Green Bay Oncology started, how cancer treatment has transformed and the people and decisions that shaped our first 50 years.

There’s a lot we don’t know about cannabis use in cancer care, including its potential benefits, risks or interactions during treatment.

On the latest episode of Cancer Covered, Drs. Brian Burnette, Tony Jaslowski and Edgard Badine take an open, evidence-minded look at cannabis and cannabinoids and what current research can — and can’t yet — tell us.

Plus, we explore COSMIC, a clinical trial studying real-world cannabis use among people with cancer.

We're 50! 🎉

Green Bay Oncology began in August 1976 with Dr. Paul Koch seeing patients in a hospital hallway. Today, we’re proud to care for patients at 12 locations across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan; and we’re incredibly grateful for all the patients, families, employees, providers, hospital partners and communities who have been part of our journey.

To celebrate our golden anniversary, we’ve refreshed our logo to honor our history while reflecting the Green Bay Oncology of today. Our look may be a little different, but our purpose remains the same - bringing expert blood and cancer care close to home.

Take a closer look at how our logo has evolved and what our new design represents: https://gboncology.com/green-bay-oncology-celebrates-50-years-with-a-refreshed-logo/

Here’s to the next 50 years! 🧡

Don't delay – get screened today. When lung cancer is caught and treated in Stage 1 or 2, the five-year survival rate increases by 59%, almost double the chance to survive if it isn’t discovered until Stage 3 or 4.

If you are 55-77 years old and meet certain criteria, getting screened for lung cancer can save your life.

DR. WINKLER'S LETTER TO THE EDITOR: "Though I’m supposed to have all the answers, I haven’t felt too sure of anything lately. It must show on my face, because recently one of my patients (a young woman living with incurable breast cancer) asked “how you doing there, doc?”

“Honestly, I’m not sure,” I said. “My regular routine is wrecked, I don’t feel as safe as I used to, and I don’t know what’s coming.”

“Welcome to my world,” she said, with a wry smile." - Dr. Mitch Winkler

EDITOR: Though I’m an oncologist and not an infectious disease expert I’m getting bombarded with questions about the pandemic. Patients and staff are aski
