HAIL DAMAGE? KNOW YOUR OPTIONS BEFORE REPLACING PANELS.
We’ve heard some confusion in the community surrounding hail repairs, warranties, preferred shops and repair costs, so we wanted to clear a few things up!
You have the right to choose who repairs your vehicle. Your insurance company may recommend a repair facility, but ultimately, the choice is yours.
A few important things to know:
• WARRANTIES: You may hear that your repairs “won’t be guaranteed” if you choose a shop outside of the insurance company’s preferred network. Don’t let that make you feel like you don’t have a choice. The repair shop is responsible for standing behind its workmanship.
Elite Hail Team provides a lifetime warranty on our hail repairs. Once a dent is properly repaired through PDR, it doesn’t simply “come back.” If an issue with our workmanship should ever arise, we’re always reachable through our 888 number, Facebook or email and will address it.
• REPAIR COSTS: You may also hear that if you choose an out-of-network shop, the insurance company “can’t guarantee” the full repair cost will be covered.
This does not mean you have to use their preferred shop. We work directly with insurance throughout the repair process, follow their estimating guidelines, provide documentation for any necessary supplements, and come to an agreed repair cost with the carrier. Our customers are not left with a surprise balance for covered hail repairs.
• PANEL REPLACEMENT: Every vehicle we’ve personally estimated or repaired from the Erie storm so far has been 100% Paintless Dent Repairable. PDR preserves your original factory paint and panels rather than replacing them.
If you’ve received an estimate calling for multiple panel replacements or one high enough that your vehicle may be considered a total loss, get a second opinion from an experienced PDR professional.
