Kenneth Snider Memorial Car Cruise
In 2012, Ken Snider, a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church started the Classic Car Festival coupled with a neighborhood picnic at the church. Ken was driven to help out the Church in any way possible along with reaching out to our neighborhood. The neighborhood watch group in the area met at the church and they joined together to combine their neighborhood picnic with the Car show to bring the community together in a non-threatening environment. Ken did a lot of work to get this event going but sadly, he suddenly passed away in November of 2014.
This event was very dear to him. He was a car enthusiast and loved his neighborhood and church family. The church council at the time did not want to stop the event but instead decided to name the car show in his memory in 2015 and continue to build on what he started.
Every year this show continues to grow and expand. St. Matthew’s consolidated into Luther Memorial Church in September of 2018 meaning a new home for the show. The 5th Annual Car Cruise will be the first at the new location of Luther Memorial. Although this will be a big change, we still believe the show will be even bigger and better!
