There’s a reason we take customers’ cars on test drives after work has been done—or even just in general. It’s to make sure there are no problems with our customers’ cars and that everyone is safe with their hot rod.
This 1967 twin-turbo SBC street/strip Camaro is a perfect example. We did a lot of work to this car, fixing all the little things and some major things as well. Then came the test drive.
To make a long story short, we drove it and the brakes went out completely due to the rear calipers freezing up and overheating to the point that they stopped working. We had to have the car towed back to the shop and replace all the rear calipers and rotors.
While disassembling everything, we found even more problems with the rear brakes. With some machining of the calipers and rotor hats, we were able to get everything taken care of and working properly.
That’s exactly why we test-drive our customers’ cars. It’s not just about making sure the work we performed is right—it’s about catching problems before the customer gets behind the wheel.
Making hotrods great again !!!!
