Happy National Left-Handers Day! 🖐️

If you are a lefty, you already know the struggle. Almost every vehicle on the road is secretly designed for right-handed people. The gear shifter, the touchscreen, the climate controls, the cup holders—it is all on the right side!

But lefties hold the ultimate trump card... The Drive-Thru Window.

While the rest of us are awkwardly reaching across our bodies to grab a morning coffee or hand over cash, lefties are rolling through with perfect, dominant-hand precision.

Lefties, we see you and we respect the drive-thru dominance! Tag a proud lefty in the comments, or give a shoutout to the local drive-thru where you are flexing that left-handed advantage today!

We went around the dealership and asked people if they would stop if they are about to hit a Family of ducks!

Surprised that no one here would be willing to stop

But actually we asked if they would eat a slug

We know that around the Plateau, a truck just isn't complete without a four-legged copilot riding shotgun!

Today is officially National Mutt Day, and we want to celebrate the good boys and girls that join you on every road trip, hardware store run, and camping weekend.

Let’s see those Plateau pups! Drop a photo of your dog riding in your vehicle in the comments below so we can show them some love.

Did you know that on this exact day back in 1935, the very first Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress took its maiden flight? This incredible piece of machinery was born right here in Washington and went on to change history.

We know that a huge number of our Gamblin Motors neighbors and customers commute out to Boeing or have family members who helped build the aerospace industry here in the PNW.

Do we have any local aviation buffs or Boeing families on the page? Give yourselves a shoutout in the comments below!

If you drive through Buckley today, you see a thriving community, but back in the late 1800s, it looked a whole lot different! Here are a few pieces of local history to kick off your weekend:

It wasn't always called Buckley. Before it got its official name, the area was known as "White River Siding" and later "Perkins Prairie."

The town was officially named after Alexander Buckley, a district superintendent for the Northern Pacific Railway. The railroad put the town on the map in the late 1880s!

Built on Timber and Coal. Like a lot of the great towns in the Pacific Northwest, Buckley started as a rugged logging and coal-mining hub, drawing hardworking folks from all over to build a life near the foothills of Mount Rainier.

Whether your family has lived here for generations, or you just recently bought a home in town and are putting down fresh roots, Buckley has always been a truly special piece of the Plateau.

What is your favorite part about Buckley today? Drop it in the comments below, and have a great weekend from all of us at Gamblin Motors!

Did you know that Elvis filmed this scene in Enumclaw for the 1963 movie It Happened at the World's Fair? I've already talked to a few people who claim to have seen him and the camera crew driving through town!

Do you or someone you know remember this?

With the Fair running today through the weekend, I started digging into some local history about the Enumclaw Expo Center. Did you know that the two big metal buildings actually came from the World’s Fair in Seattle? Even better—those are the exact same buildings Elvis walked through himself!

Here in the PNW, we take our morning caffeine seriously. We also know that people around here are fiercely loyal to their daily drive-thru stand.

So today, we want to settle it. Who makes the absolute best cup of coffee on the Plateau?

(Disclaimer: Play nice in the comments! We are all neighbors here, and we love supporting all of our amazing local businesses. )

But when push comes to shove, and you are pulling the truck out of the driveway... where are you heading? Are you a die-hard fan of a specific stand in Enumclaw, or do you swear by a spot out in Buckley?

Tag your favorite local coffee stand (or your favorite barista!) in the comments below so we know where to get our next fix!
