In 1944, the oldest Maldonado brother Crispin decided to open an all in one automotive stop with gas pumps, mechanic services and paint & body. One of the first full service stations on Ennis Avenue. His 2 brothers off in WWII, Augustine & Paul would join him upon their return and work on and off at the shop as well.
Thus began the journey of Maldonado Brothers Garage. My father Jessie Maldonado, who was born in 1944, later continued the shop and transitioned it into today’s business as a Paint & Body Collision Repair. Over the course of his career he painted numerous items, fire trucks, restoring cars, trailers, boats, etc. He stayed with the business until his passing in 2019, where I Krista Maldonado Rejcek took over the business.
In 2024, we were to have celebrated our 80th year in business, but life took a turn instead. My son was born at a very premature age in March of 2024. His stay at Baylor NICU was extensive and when we were able to bring him home at the end of July 2024.
2024 was met with its challenges, but we’re happy to continue the business into its 82nd year. We celebrate this Memorial Day in remembrance of those who served our great nation and allowed us to be where we are today. I take honor in keeping this business going all thanks to the men and women who served, especially my uncles and father.
