Out here in Enid, OK and across Garfield County, community isn’t just a word — it’s how people actually live. Sometimes that means showing up to help a friend when they’ve got a big project on their hands.

A few days back, we got the honor of helping a really good friend relocate a piece of true farm history: a 1950 Massey M27 combine. The mission was simple — move it safely from one farm to another just down the road so he can start restoring it the right way.

Last night we had the honor and privilege to tow the author of the children’s book, Leon The Brave Little Lion, Mr. Andrew Lyon.

Let me tell you a little about the book!

Leon the Brave Little Lion is a wonderful children’s book that gently tells the real-life story of a young person’s battle with leukemia and how he bravely overcomes it. Inspired by the true journey of its author, Andrew Lyon—a wonderful man of faith—this story reflects courage, hope, and steadfast trust in the middle of hardship. It’s short, easy to follow, and very well written for kids, while still being meaningful for adults too.

The illustrations are beautiful and engaging, helping bring Leon’s journey to life in a way that feels hopeful rather than scary. My daughter Julia has already called this book one of her favorites, and I can see why. It’s a great book to open up conversations about courage, sickness, faith, and hope with children.
