For this weekend’s things to think about we have door bars. Because why not make a very small car even harder to get in and out of? Playing with two designs. First, is simple. Straight from the rear hoop to the dash bar. Second, adds another longitudinal tube about 2” above the lower chassis rail. Then door bars on top of that. Originally there was going to have a pillar turning and a full halo and probably no door bars. Unfortunately there’s not enough head room. So I need to add a little more structure for rigidity. In come door bars.

I got this old set of dies with my press I recently bought. So I decided to start cleaning them up while waiting for a customer this morning. Then I discovered they all have this wild pattern in the steel that holds the dies and what seems to be a built in guide to keep the threads straight? Does anyone have any info on these things? They are definitely the most interesting set of dies and holders I have seen. With little elbow grease and maybe some evaporust these things will be shining like new!
