Summary
Tow Truck Operator has critical responsibilities for safely and efficiently removing unauthorized or illegally parked vehicles from private property and delivering them to designated impound facilities in a timely manner and in accordance with all applicable regulations, laws, and policies.
Another critical function of this role is to create and maintain the Wyatts experience for our customers, regulators, teammates, and business partners. Therefore, tow truck operators must act in accordance with our Core Values at all times and in all situations with a positive attitude.
The following key accountabilities ensure the critical success of this position:
5% - Learn and adhere to all safety policies, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines at all times.
Ensure that all towing is done with no distractions by following all speed limits, traffic laws, and company policies and guidelines.
10% - Operate towing equipment in a safe and responsible manner 100% of the time. Fully understand all applicable state and local PPI Towing laws and regulations to ensure compliance at all times; Adhere to all regulations and company guidelines at all times.
20% - Expertly utilize our towing software to maximize the number of tows by locating, initiating, and completing tows and accurately recording the location and condition of towed vehicles - Promptly respond to towing requests.
30% - Expertly utilize our towing software to identify available towing locations (“accounts”). Adhere to all property rules and regulations. Utilize software to log pre-tow pictures, violations, and other required information prior to and during towing operations. Utilize software to submit fuel expense reports, incident reports, and other required reports as per company policies.
15% - Be a positive team member. Clearly and effectively communicate with all stakeholders in person, telephone, or through radio communications in order to maximize the number of tows. Mentor, train, and assist teammates in order to maximize tows and safety.
20% - Interact with all vehicle owners, business partners, teammates, and the local community in a professional manner and in accordance with company policies. Utilize appropriate techniques and communication skills with whoever you interact with while towing the vehicles. Complete your tow while avoiding or deescalating confrontations with vehicle owners or any of their representatives.
