Screwed up my page somehow ????? Uh oh !!!
Holly on one of the first bikes she worked on with me here ... She did great and the bike is going home within the hour ... She is almost in Arkansas for her sisters wedding this week and couldn't be here today to see the bike leave but you done good Holly , Thanx for all your help ! See you next week ......💀
Its been a long road to get this done... Waiting for parts was agonizing sometimes but for what its worth here she is running ! Fired up instantly first tap of the starter button ... Some title work is next then on the road finally ......💀....... Lots of emails and some calls about the bottle mounted on the front of the frame on this ... Its not Nitrous Oxide its the oil tank . rather than build it behind a hot motor I put it out front with no heat and its like an oil cooler too and holds 4 quarts instead of 3 and that's lots of good temperature oil to the motor . perfect not too hot to break down viscosity of the oil ... Nothing new and its been done many times but i liked the idea and the bikes owner liked it too and it looks cool and different and works great .....
My buddy Don traded in his beautiful Softail Deluxe that i have been servicing for a few years for this 2019 Street Glide. ... Dons Deluxe was one of my favorites to have in the shop and it had beautiful paint in Blue & White Pearl ... Normally I would have said " what did you do trading in that gorgeous Deluxe " but I let him slide without bitching at him cuz this new Street Glide is beautiful too just like his previous bike was ... I love the Blue & Black and how they contrast off each other ! Nice choice Don and yeah I think you didn't make a mistake giving this girl a new home .........💀
More cool bikes from 2 builders I admire ... The first 20 bikes are built by Gangster Choppers and the next 15 are built by Cyril Huze .... Class AAA quality built bikes from 2 great craftsmen of our time ....
Swiss style bike that I built in my shop a few years ago to ride the "glass smooth highways of Pennsylvania" .......... 💀
Bikes from Switzerland ... Pretty much says their roads are way better than ours !
It gets busier here every year and the start of riding season is usually a good indicator for what the season will bring as far as work load ... This year is the busiest start ever so far so I came to a pretty quick conclusion that no way can I handle all the work that was coming by myself... As I was wrapping up a long week last Friday night I got an interesting phone call out of the blue from someone who has mechanical background and abilities and is interested in working on motorcycles ... We got talking and texting back and forth for a few days and i couldn't help but notice how much ambition this person I was talking to had as I was thinking of how much I could use an extra set of hands here ... Im not one to follow what most people consider normal and mainstream and I will always listen to that little voice inside me that guides me rather than simply follow the rules that everyone else does ... After alot of thought I made the decision to go with my gut feelings and I bought this person into the shop to work , learn , and help me with the huge workload and get bikes in here that were on my appointment list that was growing by the hour ... It was getting overwhelming and I had to solve the issue of my customers having to wait till I got to them on the appointment list I was checking off as I got to them ... Soooo im happy to introduce " Holly " my little Dynamo of a helper here now and my secret weapon ! She just did 4 days here with me this week and showed me she is capable of being my shadow here working at my side with me and also doing services on bikes front to back and I see a huge potential in her and her ambition is admirable to say the least ... It was a great week so far and she turned it on and kicked ass here all week and I was impressed with her and proud of her .... She is here and I plan on keeping her here and busy ... She proved herself to me and im happy to say Holly is on deck here for the Spring / Summer season and hopefully in the Winter bike building season and for some years to come ? ... " Thank you Holly for having the guts to make that phone call to me for a job that wasnt even advertised ! " you found it on your own and nailed it ! " good job Little One ! ............... Mike 💀
....... Full House .......
End of the day and its on the ground to be finished ......💀
Working out the details to get this on the floor again to fit handlebars to her owner then its time to start running wires to light her up ... Spring seat on , forward controls on , oil tank on ( that's the tank in front of the motor ) and oil hoses run in the general direction they are going to be ..... Hoping to wrap her up in a few weeks .........💀
And this is why it costs so much to replace a rear belt ! Half the bike apart and still need to separate the swingarm from the frame to slip the drive belt in ... Then put this all back together again ! Labor intensive job !!! Worst part is breaking the starter motor away from the inner primary . swivels , extensions , lots of penetrant and a breaker bar . that alone took 40 minutes to break it free without breaking bolts......💀 fun times !
Wrapping it up on a spring service on Tim's beautiful 2014 Deluxe . gorgeous bike !
Aaaaah 😁 that's better ! Sold my table lift and got some major space in this bay again . table lifts sure are nice sometimes but I seem to move better in here without one in the way ! Had 3 in here years ago ,got rid of them and never missed them but bought another one last year and tried it again ... Much more mobile in this place without any table lifts at all and so much easier to park bikes in here after the day is done ........ 💀
Today is full service day for Dons beautiful Softail Deluxe ... Its the white spot in the middle between the silver Fatboy and the Metalflake Ironhead with 2" of space on either side ! .... Yup that's it I think ? Cant tell till I can get closer but im pretty sure that's the next one I need to Cherry Pick out of the pile today and get done as soon as I can carve out a 4 x 6 spot in this place to get to her . Rain before I got my outside parking tent up for the season ... It never fails .
Yeah .... Spring is here . how many Harleys can you stuff into a 2bay shop ? Got 9 in here by the end of today ....💀
Danny's 1980 Sportster Bobber is also a bike I have been building this winter ... Clean & Simple ! Nice bike fully restored with a couple tweeks thrown in to make it his bike ! Have some more work to do to finish her up but considering it came to me in boxes in the back of a pickup truck she has come a long way since the day he dropped off a basket case .....💀ps. This was Danny's dads bike who passed away ! Dad would be proud of it and what Danny did to bring it back to a new life ... Kept it in the family !

Cool ! Scored these seats from the 70's for my 2 Ironhead builds ! In storage for years but in unused perfect new condition and very rare hard to find seats ! Got lucky ! These seats will make the bikes . I always remember a lot of bikes in old biker movies had them on and always liked chrome buttons cuz i guess now im an old biker too ......💀
Chopper progress pic for the day ... Coming out nice and her owner was here today to visit and left very happy with the results and that is what makes me happy most of all !.........💀
Springer on ! Lots of work ahead though ... This is the stage where the customer says " oooooo will it be done tomorrow? " noooo not for a few more weeks sorry Lol ........💀
Coming together ... Front end is back on too , ill post more pics tomorrow of it ... Looking good .surprisingly the Purple is a huge hit with everyone 💀i have not painted a bike Purple in years but I guess its still popular ! ......💀
This is Dan's 80 Sportster bobber Paintjob I shot this morning ... Its actually flat black , took pic while it was wet ... I Havent seen it since then but tomorrow it should be all kinda flat / semigloss with a nice sheen to it ,or im in trouble 😕 ... I did it with Rustoleum in spray cans and im positive it says flat black on the can , the rest is up to Rustoleum ! I will have these parts on the bike next week and post pics of it getting finished . Paintjob came out nice ....💀
Into the final assembly of Jims chopper ... He came here with only a 1200 engine so I had to buy every other part cuz he had nothing ... This tore up any ideas of a budget for the bike ... The motor looked dead in that Purple frame ( 1st pic ) and as much as I hate these I wound up just getting a chrome cover kit to at least cover the aluminum boxes & side covers ... Put them on today and hated the look with some of the stock aluminum showing because they are not full covers ... Solution was to paint the aluminum flat black so it at least matches the black heads and kinda look like part of the heads the covers don't cover ... Basically I Yamaha'd the rocker covers into what now looks better with the 4 covers and black in between to split them ... This motor was screaming for chrome , he just cant afford it after buying every part too ... Hopefully this will look better until maybe he can afford to pull the original covers and chrome them ......... 💀
By the end of the day this 1200 Sportster motor will be in the purple frame I painted last week . Trick is to lay the motor on its side and slip the frame around it , no scratches doing it that way , motor is way heavier than the frame to maneuver around .....💀
Painted Jim's chopper today . shot the Purple , layed a purple flake over the color and clearcoated everything with 4 coats of Urethane clear ..💀F**king long hard day and Im definitely getting too old for this ... My painting days will be coming to an end in a couple years .....💀 Paintjob came out nice though . very cool color and pics dont do the job justice !
Got the 77 running today ! Took a carb cleaning , new plugs and fresh fuel and she lit right up after a 10+ year sleep ! This bike runs great , took her up and down the road for a few miles . now its teardown time to turn it into a beautiful bike ........ 💀
Jims long springer chopper bodywork all done and ready for her Paintjob . I take the time to Mold all the frame welds smooth , it makes for a much nicer looking smoother frame when painted and is worth the extra effort on the full builds .... Pain in the ass sanding on a frame but it looks so much more finished when the bike is done .... 💀
Ok ... Title transferred into new owners name and step 1 is to light this old girl up after over 10 years in storage and see how she sounds ! Great to get these bikes in complete condition to run them before i get into redoing the bike front to back . any glitches will be found on the test fireup hopefully before I tear the bike down for her ressurection ! ......💀
Next build is here . 77 Sportster . old , dusty and not ridden in years but intact !!!. just the way I like to start these build projects .....💀
Mockup and fab work is done on Jim's chopper . stripped down to bare frame now and getting ready to paint her soon and start reassembly ......💀
Build #3 of winter . 79 Lowrider . she came to me in terrible shape but almost 2 years of time along with all the other stuff going on here daily has really brought this old girl back to life . Norm and I wired her up last week with a Centech wiring harness and she is turning over and almost ready to fire . bit more work to do but this spring i have the honor of putting the first couple hundred miles on her and the first to ride her in her new life ! Love this bike !!! . pet project ........💀
Build #2 of winter ... My buddy Danny's 1980 Sportster . this bike belonged to Danny's dad who passed away and he is resurrecting her so he can ride it . Saved from death in boxes of parts and going back on the road looking better than she ever did ......💀ill never forget the day he pulled up here with this basket case in back of his truck with a dream to bring this back to life ! I almost didn't take the challenge but glad I did and could help him see this through ...
Jim's Sportster chopper on the ground for the first time after fabrication... Next step is to paint the bike then on to the final assembly ... 1 of 3 bikes being built here this winter ........💀
Finally these Holidays are over ! Back to a normal shop again with no Holiday shutdowns ! So far not a bad winter and I'm getting test rides in without freezing my ass off ! .... C'mon springtime .......💀
Unusual for this time of year but I have a full service to do on a bike tomorrow to get it back out on the street again asap ... some guys do ride them all year around here ! Little chilly but they really run good in the crisp air ....💀
Love this little place ! Warm in here , building and fixing bikes and Thin Lizzy " the Rocker " on the stereo with Montrose 1st album up next . I couldn't be more content at the moment .....💀
Tomorrow is going to suck ! This wire harness has to go inside that handlebar ! Then same thing again on the other side ! Not normally too much of a bitch job but in the case of these Xotic Z bars with hard sharp turns I expect a fight on my hands tomorrow. Large coffee at the very least to start the day for sure tomorrow ! ....💀
Its hard to take good pics in the shop cuz its pretty packed up with bikes but here is Rick's 69 Shovelhead in for fresh James top end gaskets and valve train checkup and cylinder hone with fresh Hastings rings and while its apart some Satin Black powder coating by Kings Powdercoating for the cylinders and repolishing of the rocker boxes by Charlie Angel ... chrome 12 point headbolts, cylinder base acorn nuts , chrome rocker shaft hardware and some other assorted hardware going on it while it is being reassembled ... Looks so much better now .....💀
Why is it I can build 30 & 40 thousand dollar choppers but when i have to replace a hot water heater element I freeze up and am intimidated ???? WTF ????
This little bitch is wicked ! Loll .... Love it !
Changed my hours to appointment only ... Sole proprietor and its easier than trying to catch me here ..., I have to leave here sometimes to hardware store , test rides , bank etc... And nobody here to cover me when I run somewhere ... Call ahead and ill be here if you have an appointment ..... Mike 💀
