The wait is over. We are officially hiring!

We are currently hiring for hourly, part-time positions as we prepare to open, with opportunities across:

• Outdoor kart rental staff
• Front desk and customer service
• Pro competition track staff
• Apex Sim Racing Arena team members
• KartZone retail and service center
• And more

These roles are a great way to get involved early as we launch the facility. As we continue to grow, additional salaried positions will become available.

KartZone is excited to announce our partnership with Borelli Motorsports!

Borelli Motorsports will serve as the Official Tillotson T4 Kid Kart Team on behalf of KartZone, the Premier Karting Retailer of Lorain Ohio KartPlex.

Robert Brassell Named General Manager of KartZone Ahead of 2026 Season

Lorain, OH — KartZone is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Brassell as its new General Manager, as the organization prepares for the 2026 racing season.

Brassell brings a rare combination of executive leadership, engineering expertise, and deep motorsports experience to KartZone. A seasoned business professional with more than 40 years of experience spanning product management, business leadership, quality management, engineering, and technical marketing, he has built a career leading high-performance teams across both industrial and competitive environments.

His professional background includes senior and technical leadership roles with global organizations such as Lockheed Martin, General Electric, Nordson, and ABB—companies widely recognized for operational excellence, safety, and innovation.

In addition to his corporate career, Brassell brings over 20 years of experience in the racing industry, including 10 years dedicated specifically to karting. This unique blend of business discipline and hands-on racing knowledge positions him well to guide KartZone through its next phase of growth.

“I’m honored to lead KartZone into its next chapter, where a lifelong passion for racing meets a bold vision for growth. Together with the Lorain Ohio Kartplex, we are building more than a karting facility—we are creating a world-class motorsports destination that inspires racers, families, and the entire community.” said Bob Brassell.

As General Manager, Brassell will oversee day-to-day operations, strategic planning, customer experience, and long-term facility development. He will also lead the launch and operational rollout of KartZone’s additional location near San Antonio, Texas, scheduled to open in Q1 of 2026. His leadership will focus on elevating operational standards, strengthening racer and partner relationships, and ensuring KartZone continues to be a premier destination for competitive and recreational karting.

“Robert’s depth of experience, leadership mindset, and passion for motorsports make him an exceptional fit for KartZone,” said Kristopher McCrone, President of KartZone. “As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond—including expansion into new markets—his guidance will be instrumental in shaping the future of our organization.”
