I have developed a self contained battery operated Starter for 65-100 HP continental and Lycoming engines for small aircraft. I have an STC and Pma.

Due to lack of sales on Lycoming engineStarters we will no longer produced the lycoming starter as of Feb 2021. We will continue to make the ones for the Continental engine. Call 989-763-1300 for imformation.

I am thinking of selling the STC to Safestart Starters since my husband has passed and no one wants to build them for me. If someone had their own machine shop and not have to rely on someone making parts, a nice profit could be made. I am asking $50,000 or best offer. I have all the blueprints . I am the inventor of the Safestart Starter System . I have an STC and a PMA and manufacture these at my airport in Elwell, Mi.I first put it on my 1940 Taylorcraft about five years ago and have never had to put a new battery in the system yet. The FAA said it was the biggest safety factor in 50 years and asked me to manufacture it. I am licensed for it to be put on 65-100Hp Continental and Lycoming engines. Here is just a couple I have installed but can put it on about 30 different planes. call at 989-463-1762 or Mike at 989-763-1300. Complete kits run $1950 plus $50 postage and handling in the US. We have them in most states here including Alaska, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. We also will install them at our facility
for $500. I am featured in the EAA magazine April 2009.

We are still operating in 2018. Our price remains the same of $1850 plus $50 postage and handling. We make up the kits as we get the orders. Mike Hamp is now building the kits. His number is 989-763-1300 or 989-463-1762. The kits are complete with a manual, parts, drill motor, and charger. You get the STC in your name. It takes about two weeks after we receive your check to send out your order. Your mechanic can install the starter in about two days. We also install them at our facility in central Michigan for $500.
