For you quilters out there, this looks like fun!
The Gratiot County Quilt Trail will be open to the public for the first time in 2016. Over 40 beautiful Quilt Blocks have been committed to the trail so far! Many of them have already been installed, with several more in the process of being painted. Response to this program continues to be excellent and we anticipate quite a few more block requests over the next couple of months.
In order for us to put together the trail map and brochure in time for the travel season, there is now a FEBRUARY 1 deadline in order for you to have a block on the trail for 2016. If you would like a Quilt Block created for your barn, home, business or organization, you must make contact and pay the fee BY FEBRUARY 1 in order to be in the 2016 brochure. The design and painting committee will work with you so that your block is ready in the spring.
Costs are $300 for an 8’x 8’ block, $225 for a 4’ x 4’ block and $150 for a 2’ x 2’ block plus $50 to be listed in the brochure for five years. This includes materials, design and painting so that you receive a quality finished product. It does not include the installation of the block.

The Gratiot County Quilt Trail will be a wonderful attraction and a beautiful representation of our agricultural heritage here in Gratiot County. We hope that you will contact us if you’d like to take part. A county-wide event is being planned for next October 8, 2016 in order to celebrate the Quilt Trail’s first year.
