Our team recently took on a unique challenge: removing embedded iron deposits and fragments from tantalum metal to help our client achieve greater than 99.9% tantalum purity.

Conventional methods—including grinding and media blasting—were unable to produce the required results. Laser cleaning proved to be the only successful method, selectively removing the iron contamination while preserving the valuable tantalum underneath.

This project is a great example of where laser technology goes beyond surface cleaning and solves a highly specialized industrial problem.
