Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues based on customer requests or concerns
• Perform basic maintenance including oil changes, rotating tires, checking fluid levels
• Repair or replace worn parts and systems such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems and sensors
• Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment
• Ability to clearly present findings to service manager to create quotes for customers
• Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately
• Report to service manager for instructions of job priority

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Safety and Emissions certification preferred
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions
• Experience with general shop equipment
• Possess necessary tools to work in a shop
• Reliable with a strong work ethic

• Schedule jobs and assign tickets to mechanics
• Prepare pricing estimates and discuss with customer
• Maintain general understanding of the repair process to explain needed repairs to customers
• Maintain communication with customers regarding status of repairs
• Address customer concerns and escalate as needed
• Ordering parts
• Run daily reports
• Other general responsibilities as needed

Qualifications
• General automotive knowledge required; Mechanic experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license

It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that our owner, Ross Lochmann, passed away on May 9, 2021.

Joe’s Garage was started in 1988 by two great friends, Ross and Joe, that wanted a chance to start something they could call their own (and be their own bosses of course!). Ross was thrilled to leave his suit and ties behind and exchange them for his trademark flannels! It was a struggle at first but the community of Ellisville soon learned that honest mechanics do exist and a loyal customer base developed. Ross and Joe were business partners until 2008, when sadly Joe passed away. Ross continued to keep their dream alive for another 13 years with the help of his fantastic staff and the support of all of you! We couldn’t have asked for a more honest and welcoming person to continue leading the business to success.

And while we wanted all of you Loyal Customers to know our devastating news, don’t worry -Joe’s Garage is staying open for business!

April 23rd Update: Joe's Garage will REOPEN Monday April 27th!!

We are continuing our social distancing measures for the safety of our staff and customers. We ask that customers drop off cars using our key drop instead of waiting in our lobby. Leave us a note with your keys or call 636-256-6900 to request services.

If you are unable to leave your car with us or make over the phone payments please let us know and we will be happy to work with you.

UPDATE: As of April 3, 2020 we have decided to close temporarily for the safety of our employees. We are hoping this will only be for a 2 week period and apologize to all of our loyal customers for any inconvenience this causes. We will update the message on our answering machine (636-256-6900) and post on this page when we plan to reopen. We want all of you to stay safe and healthy as well!

As of March 30, 2020, Joe’s Garage is still OPEN to service your vehicles.

Please note that some changes have been made to ensure the health and safety of our customers and employees.
At this time, we are closing the lobby and garage bays to customers. We welcome all customers to drop off your cars and use the key drop in the bay door. Call us at 636-256-6900 to let us know what service you are requesting and to make all payments. If you cannot make a credit card payment let us know and we are happy to work with you on a different option.

Please know that we are using heightened disinfecting practices on all cars before and after maintenance.
