Winterizing your camper isn’t just about protecting the plumbing. 🚐❄️

When an RV sits closed up for weeks or months, trapped moisture can quickly turn into musty smells, mildew, and mold especially if there’s already moisture hiding inside.

Anthony has seen firsthand what can happen when a camper is stored without enough airflow or moisture control. 😬

Before you close your RV up for the season, take a little extra time to:
✔️ Remove anything damp
✔️ Make sure everything is completely dry
✔️ Use moisture absorbers or a dehumidifier when appropriate
✔️ Check for any leaks or signs of moisture

That slide seal has definitely seen better days. 👀

Your RV’s slide seals are designed to help keep water, dirt, insects, and outside air from getting into your RV when the slide is extended or retracted. Over time, they can become torn, cracked, brittle, or separated like the one Anthony is showing here.

A few things that can damage a slide seal:

• ☀️ Sun and UV exposure can dry out the rubber and cause cracking
• 🌡️ Extreme heat and cold can make seals brittle over time
• 🪨 Dirt, sticks, leaves, and debris can catch on the seal as the slide moves
• ⚙️ Slide misalignment can create excessive rubbing or pressure
• 🕐 And sometimes, it simply comes down to age and normal wear

A damaged seal may seem like a small problem, but leaving it that way can allow water intrusion, which can eventually lead to much more expensive damage inside your RV- including damaged flooring, walls, insulation, and even mold.

If you notice cracking, tearing, gaps, or pieces of your slide seal beginning to separate, it’s a good idea to have it inspected and replaced before the next heavy rain finds the weak spot. 🌧️

A little preventative maintenance now can save you from a much bigger repair later.

💧 A small RV leak can turn into a much bigger problem.

This RV had been leaking long enough for the water to make its way inside and once we started looking closer, you could see the staining and damage it had left behind.

That’s the thing about RV water intrusion: what you can see on the surface may only be part of the story. Water can travel behind walls, ceilings, cabinets and trim before the damage becomes obvious.

If you notice a soft spot, discoloration, bubbling, musty smell, or any sign of moisture in your RV, don’t ignore it. Catching a leak early can save you from a much more expensive repair later. 🚐🔧

🚨 A leak under your RV is never something to ignore.

This customer called us after noticing fluid leaking from their camper. Once Anthony got underneath it, he confirmed the issue was a hydraulic fluid leak affecting the slide system.

Hydraulic systems rely on properly pressurized fluid to operate components like slide-outs. When fluid starts leaking, you may notice:

• Slides moving slowly or unevenly
• Slides struggling to extend or retract
• Fluid collecting underneath the RV
• A system that eventually stops operating altogether

After locating the source of the leak and making the necessary repair, the hydraulic system was able to build pressure again and the **slides are now going in and out like they should.** 🙌

The biggest takeaway? If you ever notice an unexplained puddle or fluid underneath your RV, don’t assume it’s nothing. Catching a hydraulic leak early can help prevent a much bigger problem later.

Storm damage can get ugly FAST. 😳⛈️

This awning took a serious hit during a bad storm and by the time we arrived, there wasn’t much left to save.

The owner had been trying to find someone to replace it for months before finding Certified RV Solutions on Facebook. He gave us a call, Anthony got to work, and now that damaged awning is officially a thing of the past. 🙌🚐
