Happy National Loggers Day to Gibson and Son Road Building!!

Today on National Loggers Day, we recognize the hardworking logging professionals who play a vital role in sustaining the health and productivity of our nation’s forests. Through active forest management work, carried out in partnership with the Forest Service, loggers help reduce hazardous fuels, improve forest health, support local economies, and maintain resilient landscapes for future generations.

Thank you to the loggers who help us care for and manage your national forests.

As we put the 2026 Cowboy Cross event to bed, we want to once again thank everyone who helped, attended, vended, raced and rode. It takes an army to put this on and Jessi and I appreciate everyone who helps us every year.

This year was a different dynamic with the new dirt which created a new challenge we haven’t seen. Ultimately, we ended being able to push the existing dirt which saved Kory and his crew a ton of time as well as eliminated any contamination of outside materials into the new arena dirt. Thanks Brian Stickney and his crew for the help with keeping grade with their gps dozer to allow us to use what was there as well as push and mix the sand/dirt better after we left.

Kory and his crew are always great and can make big projects seem small with how efficient and good they are with what they do. Gibson and Son has been with us since the beginning and they are truly irreplaceable!

These pictures show a finished, back to grade arena that is mixed better than before we showed up. With the amount of moisture we had over Labor Day weekend, we walked into an arena that was definitely beat up and left it looking better in my opinion. I always want to post these pictures to assure that horses will continue to be happy here next season and that we care about the condition we leave it in.

Big thanks to everyone again who plays a part in putting this event on every year. We appreciate you and are looking forward to 2027!
