I HATE PUSHY PEOPLE WITH BAD ATTITUDES .
I had a vehicle in the shop on four jacks, and a Toyota on the lot that was in for a tire repair.
The guy expected me to drop what I was doing, and plug his tire.
I told him I didn’t “PLUG” tires, which pi**ed him off even more.
IF HE DIDN’T THROW HIS ARMS IN THE AIR IN DISGUST, I MIGHT NOT HAVE LABLED HIM A TOTAL DICK.

There was a LOT of wheel cleaning, pressure sensor cleaning, and all twenty lug nuts had to be replaced.

THIS BEAUTIFUL BMW M3 (LOTS OF CARBON FIBER) CAME IN FRIDAY FOR FOUR NEW CONTINENTAL ALL SEASON PERFORMANCE TIRES.

The vehicle came equipped with summer only high performance tires, which are not drivable in extreme cold conditions.

THE VEHICLE WON’T BE DRIVEN IN SNOW OR RAIN, BUT ON THOSE DRY SUNNY DAYS, WILL BE ENJOYABLE TO DRIVE WITH THE NEW CONTINENTAL A/W TIRES.

DON’T BE FOOLED BY COSMETICALLY FLAWLESS WHEELS.

THERE’S ALWAYS GOING TO BE SURPRISES!

In this particular case, the fl**ges had areas of extreme corrosion, this of course was discovered once the tires were removed.

I WAS GOING TO LEAVE TPMS SENSORS ALONE, AS I WAS TOLD THEY’RE WORKING JUST FINE, AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO ISSUES. BY THE WAY, THEY’RE FOURTEEN YEARS OLD.

Never trust the condition of wheels that old, no matter what the customer might say.

Check out all that corrosion on the sensors!

I called the customer to let him know just how corroded the sensors were.
He said he’d pick up a new set.

In the meantime, I did a total restoration on the wheel fl**ges and valve holes.

THE WHEELS WERE ALL READY FOR THE NEW TIRES, UNFORTUNATELY THE CUSTOMER WAS IN TOO MUCH A HURRY TO GET THE NEW TIRES MOUNTED, AND I DON’T RUSH ANYTHING, SO I SUGGESTED HE HAVE ANOTHER SHOP INSTALL THE TIRES AND SENSORS.

I’M HOPING THAT WHOEVER MOUNTS THE TIRES DOESN’T USE BEAD SEALER AND SCREW UP ALL MY HARD WORK.

A BEAUTIFUL, ABSOLUTELY MIINT 2015 TOYOTA FJ CAME IN WITH A LEAKING TIRE.

THERE WERE SEVERAL AREAS OF THE WHEEL FLANGES THAT WERE HEAVILY CORRODED.
The fl**ges were wire brushed then painted.
All imbedded corrosion in the tire beads was wire brushed as well. GOOD TO GO!

2010 CHEVY WHEELS WERE DROPPED OFF FOR NEW TPMS SENSORS.

All four valve holes were heavily rusted so they had to be wire brushed then painted.

Just for kicks, I checked one of the tires to see how close the balance was. NOT EVEN CLOSE!
#1. 1.00 oz inside 2.75 outside
#2. 2.50 oz inside .75 outside
#3. 3.50 oz inside 9.75 outside
#4. 2.75 oz inside 3.00 outside

Turned tire #3 180 degrees and the weight dropped drastically, requiring 1.25 inside and 3.75 oz outside.

A SUBARU WAS DROPPED OFF WITH A LEAKING TIRE. HERE’S WHAT I FOUND.

It just a matter of time before the other three need the works.

THERE WAS NEVER ANY ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE HEAVY CORROSION FROM THE FANGES OR THE VALVE HOLE .

A HONDA ODYSSEY WAS DROPPED OFF TODAY FOR SOME MINOR CLEANUP.
One wheel was treated with bead sealer, two wheels had minor fl**ge corrosion, one tire needed a repair, all four tires had excessive bead vents, and all four tires were way out of balance.

Pretty clean job with exception of two TPMS valves had seized valve cores. Simple fix.

Made darn sure the scrappers didn’t grab it from the scrap pile.

THIS DUMP TRUCK CAME IN WITH A CRACKED VALVE STEM. SIMPLE FIX!

BUYER BEWARE WHEN LOOKING FOR AN INNER TUBE AT HARBOR FREIGHT IN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS.

Customer has a 4.00-4.80 x 8 snowblower tire, probably the most popular size for small implements, and used on almost ever wheelbarrow tire around the world.
Purchasing this inner tube was her second attempt, as the first tube she brought in was inches bigger than the overall diameter of the entire tire. UNBELIEVABLE!

On her second attempt to purchase the proper size, the manager sold her a tube to fit a hand cart, and told her that was the proper size. WRONG! The second tube was for a two wheel hand cart.
4.00-4.80 x 8 MEANS JUST THAT! There is no substitute!

Anyway, she ended up getting the proper tube online.

Four brand new 20” BMW X-5 “Run Flat” tires were dropped off today to be switched out for four new Pirelli “Run Flat” snow tires.

OUCH!
This Buick was dropped off for two new tires and wheels.
One of the TPMS sensors was undamaged, the other cracked.
I epoxied, then clamped the crack, replaced both TPMS rubber valve, good as new !

THANK GOODNESS FOR THE OLD RUBBER DONUTS.
Wide wheel, extremely stiff sidewalls that aren’t pliable enough for the bead blasters, so this is the next best thing.
