We are changing Tiny-Part Tuesday to Random Part Tuesday this week because even we don't know what the hell this is.

But that really doesn’t matter.

Whether it’s a mystery bracket, a classic trim piece, or that one part you’ve been stepping over in the shop for the last five years… it still gets the East Tennessee Chrome premium chrome treatment... mirror-finish chrome that speaks for itself.

Got a random part of your own?

Send it our way.

Customer Spotlight

This is what award-level chrome looks like in the real world.

This jaw-dropping 1949 GMC Five Window has been stacking trophies across the country, and we are proud to have handled all the brightwork on this build. From the engine bay to the suspension and trim, every reflective surface you see here came through our shop.

And the judges have definitely noticed.

Multiple major wins, including Rod Run, NSRA Nationals, East Tennessee Showdown, and Goodguys
Second place for NSRA Pro Pick of the Year
Invited to World of Wheels as a VIP four different times
Featured in several national magazines

We truly appreciate the trust it takes to send parts for a build of this caliber. When the goal is the winner’s circle, details are not optional.

Congratulations to the owner on an incredible truck and an even more impressive run on the show circuit. We are proud to be part of the shine.

When a premium builder like Pete & Jakes sends a batch like this through our doors, it’s not by accident.

These vintage Ford shocks may look simple at first glance, but take a closer look. Crisp stamped lettering. Smooth cylindrical bodies. Tight edges around the ends. Rubber bushings that have to remain untouched. Every surface has to be straight, uniform, and distortion-free. There’s nowhere to hide on a part shaped like this. The reflection tells the whole story.

Large production-style runs like this demand consistency. Not one good piece. Not a few good pieces. Every single one has to match. Same depth of finish. Same clarity. Same clean lines around the stamped details. That level of uniformity only comes from process control, experienced hands, and knowing when to stop buffing so you do not soften the character of the part.

Shops like Pete & Jake's choose us because they cannot afford shortcuts. Their customers expect show quality. Their reputation rides on the details. When they need a full batch done right the first time, they send it here.

One dampener or a stack of them. We treat them the same.

That is the difference.

Some parts don’t just hold chrome. They demand it.

This 1958 Studebaker marker light housing is a perfect example. Sharp fins, deep curves, tight transitions, and a long tapered body that shows every flaw if you miss a step. There’s nowhere to hide on a piece like this. Any waviness, any soft edge, any uneven buildup, and the reflections tell on you instantly.

To get this right, the prep has to be obsessive. Every contour cleaned, every edge protected, every surface corrected before plating ever starts. The result is a finish that stays crisp through the fins, flows smoothly down the body, and looks just as good up close as it does bolted on the car.

Exceptional parts deserve exceptional work. That’s the difference between “it’s shiny” and “that’s right.”

This is the kind of chrome that makes a Studebaker stand out without saying a word.

Most people will only ever see this hubcap from about six feet away, rolling down the road.

We look at it like this.☝️

When you get this close, the truth shows up fast. Seams, transitions, tiny edges, and the way the light fades across the surface. If a shop cuts corners, you get ripples, harsh lines, and a finish that looks fine until the sun hits it.

On this Buick cap, the goal was simple. Make the seams disappear, keep the edges crisp, and build a finish so smooth the highlights roll across it like glass. Even the “B” stays sharp and clean, with reflections you can read.

It’s the kind of job a lot of shops avoid, because this level of smooth does not happen by accident. We do it anyway. Every time.

This motorcycle triple tree might look like just another part, but pieces like this are where precision really counts.

All the plugged holes you see are there for a reason. During plating, we take extra steps to protect critical areas so threads stay clean, bores stay true, and everything fits back together exactly the way it should. Chrome is great, but not where it can interfere with assembly.

This is the kind of prep work that most people never see, but it makes all the difference when the parts go back on the bike. Fit, function, and finish all have to work together.

Good plating is more than shine. It’s making sure everything still works when the job is done.

Tiny Part Tuesday

These hood ornament bezels for vintage Fords may be small, but they play a big role. They frame the centerpiece, catch the light, and sit right up front where everyone’s eyes land. If they’re wavy, thin, or overdone, it shows immediately.

When you’re working with parts like these, it’s all about consistency. Every edge has to stay crisp. Every surface has to match. No shortcuts, no heavy hands, just careful prep and clean, even plating from start to finish.
Small parts, big responsibility. That’s the kind of work we handle every day.
