Last Thursday we went down to Colorado Springs to help the #47 Phillip Mcgilton on his 4400 Ultra4 USA race car that is pulling double duty and is racing the legendary Pikes Peak Hill Climb
On friday Phillip went out to PMI Raceway to get some seat time on the road course set up and break in the new gears. During test, the motor lost oil pressure and unfortunately ruined the engine.
After some quick deliberation, Phillip loaded the car up and headed north to us Adrenaline Driven Motorsports LLC
Phillip jumped on a flight to Ohio, rented a truck, picked up a brand new motor, and started the 20 hour drive to Elizabeth. Sunday morning he rolled in with the new heart.
Us and the Rusty Nail Racing crew quickly went to work. Stripping the blown motor down, getting it pulled out of the car and getting the new motor dressed. In typical fashion, its never plug and play.
Some parts did not work with the new engine.
We got it dressed with what we have and now waiting on new parts to show up today.
Today the car will be heading up to Pikes Peak for tech inspection. Directly after, the car will be back in the shop to get the remaining parts on it, get it running and tuned.
Tuesday is qualifying.
This is racing. This is the definition of team work, never giving up, and defying the odds.
This car will see the green flag. Its what we do.
