Limaland Motorsports Park closes 2026 season with Invitational and King of the Quarter Mile races, and hands out season points awards.

Limaland Motorsports Park wrapped up the 2026 season on Friday night with the annual Awards Celebration night, featuring invitational features and special King of the Quarter Mile races presented by K&L Ready Mix and Lock Sixteen.

In the Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks, Forest Ohio’s Jordan Conover doubled up, winning the invitational feature and King of the Quarter Mile race, wrapping up a season that saw the driver of the No 7C pick up his first Limaland track championship after several years of trying

In the Dirt Track Truck Series, Chris Hick performed the same feat, winning both the invitational feature and King of the Quarter Mile races. Hicks was nearly beaten by Tony Anderson in the King of the Quarter Mile before Anderson’s engine blew up spectacularly on lap 7.

In the Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, a pair of Warsaw Indiana natives split the wins. No. 3W Dylan Woodling topped the field in the invitational race, while No. 17N Dillon Nusbaum dominated the King of the Quarter Mile race, winning by a full straightaway.

In between the Invitational races and King of the Quarter Mile races, the 2026 Season Points Awards were handed out with Conover officially being crowned the 2026 Lock Sixteen Thunderstock champion, and Lima, Ohio’s Jeff Koz claiming the Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modified crown. The 2026 Sportsman of the Year award was given to the retiring Shane O’Connor, who delivered an emotional speech to the crowd.

KOZ WINS FEATURE AND CLINCHES MODIFIED CROWN; HICKS WINS 100TH DTTS A-MAIN, SHERMAN BAGS THUNDERSTOCK FEATURE

LIMA, OHIO (July 31, 2026) – It was a night of pure drama, high stakes, and championship celebrations at Limaland Motorsports Park as Alexander and Bebout presented the 29th Annual Season Championship Night. When the final checkered flag fell on the 2026 points season, Jeff Koz and Jordan Conover stood tall as track champions, while Chris Hicks and Todd Sherman etched their names into the winner's book on a historic night of racing.

The night began with all teams receiving 50 show-up points upon completing hot laps and qualifying. For Lima, Ohio's Jeff Koz, those 50 points were all he needed to mathematically lock up the 2026 Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modified track championship before the features even rolled out.

But Koz wasn't content with just a points title. Starting the 20-lap UMP Modified A-Main on the front row alongside UNOH racer Dylan Drake, Koz rocketed into the early lead in his No. 16 machine. Behind him, Eric Kinney II charged into second while Drew Charlson advanced to third by lap 2. Further back, a fierce battle for sixth brewed on laps 6 and 7 between Mike Learman and Dylan Woodling, with Woodling finally securing the position on the seventh circuit. The race's momentum shifted on lap 9 when a caution flags waved for a turn 4 incident involving veteran Todd Sherman and Mike Learman. On the ensuing restart, Kinney II kept Koz honest, closing within a single car length. Koz proved too strong, however, pulling away in the closing laps to put an exclamation point on his championship season with the feature victory. Drew Charlson crossed the line second, followed by Kinney II, Dillon Nusbaum, and Dylan Woodling.

History was on the line next as the Dirt Track Truck Series took center stage for their landmark 100th feature race in series history, boasting a special $1,000 winner's prize. Tim McVety and Chris Hicks earned the front-row starting spots for the 12-lap main event. Hicks jumped out to the early lead in the No. 71 truck. Despite facing multiple caution flags that repeatedly bunched the field, Hicks kept his poise and survived every restart to claim the historic victory. Page Perrine finished a strong second, with Tony Anderson, Phil Hicks, and Justin Slygh completing the top five.

The Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks closed out the points season with a 15-lap A-Main. Only nine cars were able to make the call for the feature, a structural shift that officially guaranteed Jordan Conover the 2026 Thunderstock track championship before the green flag dropped. Jeff Matheny and Tony Anderson brought the field to life, with Matheny pacing the early laps. Conover made his move past Anderson for second on lap 2, while Todd Sherman sliced his way into third by lap 3. A lap 5 caution for Zac Rush's spin in turn 2 reset the field and set up an intense battle. On the restart, Conover and Sherman went wheel-to-wheel on laps 7 and 8 for the runner-up spot. Sherman won that battle, then locked his sights on Matheny. The duo battled side by side from laps 9 through 11 before Sherman gained the upper hand for good, driving away to capture the feature win. Matheny held on for second, with champion Conover third, Anderson fourth, and Rush recovering for fifth.

Limaland Motorsports Park returns to action next Friday night, August 7th, with the annual Awards Celebration, Invitational Races, and the King of the Quarter Mile showdown presented by K&L Ready Mix and Lock Sixteen. The top 20 drivers in each division will battle in special Invitational Features before trackside points awards are distributed. The night concludes with the King of the Quarter Mile shootouts featuring recent feature winners, followed by the fan-favorite Pit Party presented by the Ohio State Beauty Academy.

Koz, Boxell, Conover and Nusbaum grab feature wins at Limaland

A cool evening and super fast racetrack greeted fans and teams on Friday night at Limaland Motorsports Park for Family Fun Night/Meet The Drivers presented by the University of Northwestern Ohio. No. 16 Jeff Koz grabbed the victory in the Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modified makeup feature from July 3rd. No. 54 Jakeb Boxell picked up his second victory of the season at Limaland in Great Lakes Traditional Sprints competition. No. 7C Jordan Conover picked up the Lock Sixteen Thunderstock feature win. Warsaw Indiana’s Dillon Nusbaum won the regularly scheduled Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modified feature in the No. 17N.

Two track records were broken in qualifying. One was broken in the Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks by No. 7C Jordan Conover with a lap time of 14.643, and the Non Wing Sprint Car track record held by Daron Clayton for the past 21 years was broken by Wapakoneta Ohio’s Mike Miller in the Ray Marshall Motorsports No. 33M with a lap time of 12.460.

The Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modified A Feature kicked off racing action with No. 9PG Percy Gendreau and No. 22T Tony Anderson leading the field to the green flag. Those 2 would battle side by side for the first 2 laps before Gendreau would grab a slight advantage over Anderson. Gendreau got a little too high in turn 2 which allowed Anderson to grab the point. Caution would wave for debris off the 9PG on lap seven, and on the restart, No. 16 Jeff Koz began to march to the front. Koz would grab the lead on lap 10 and never look back. No. 4M Dustin Moore would finish second, Anderson third, No. 82 Brennan Sherman finished fourth and UNOH Racer Eric Kinney II would complete the top 5 in the UNOH No. 1

The Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks would begin the regularly scheduled feature events with No. 22T Tony Anderson and the No. 00 of UNOH Racer Aiden Hervey leading the field to the green flag. Hervey and Anderson would battle side by side for multiple laps. No. 7C Jordan Conover would charge to second on lap 4 then take over the lead on lap 7. No 60 Todd Sherman closed in on the front at the halfway point, moving to fourth on lap eight, and third on lap 11. His charge would end with a second place finish, as Conover would pick up the win, Sherman was second, Anderson third, UNOH Racer Blake Steele finished fourth, and fellow UNOH Racer Hervey completed the top five.

The Great Lakes Traditional Sprints presented by MacAllister CAT would be up next in feature action. No. 2DI Dustin Ingle and No. 1H Korbyn Hayslett would make up the front row in the 25 lap A Main. No. 16 Jackson Slone would knife his way between the leaders to lead lap number one, but Hayslett would go to the high side of the track and find the speed to grab the lead on lap 2. Ingle fought his way back to second on lap 5, while No. 54 Jakeb Boxell began his charge from his sixth place starting position. Boxell would get by Slone for third on lap 8 then put a slide job on Ingle in turns three and four to pick up second place. Hayslett would get into lapped traffic on lap 12 and Boxell was able to capitalize, closing in and getting by Hayslett on lap 17. Hayslett’s bid for a third straight GLTS feature win officially came to an end on the same lap, as a flat left rear tire ended his night. Boxell would survive the restart and pick up the win over Ingle, No 21B Ryan Barr was third, No. 6W Chad Wilson fourth, and No. 76 Parker Fredrickson would complete the top five.

The Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modifieds wrapped up the night with their regularly scheduled 20 lap feature. No. 11G Kevin Grilliot and No. 16 Jeff Koz would lead the field to the green flag, but caution would fly before the first lap was completed for debris off the No. 01 UNOH car of CJ Permann. A complete restart with Permann going to the back would see Grilliot and Koz battle briefly with Koz grabbing the early race lead. Koz appeared to be on his way to his second win of the night until making contact with a lapped car which allowed No. 3W Dylan Woodling to briefly take the lead. Koz would regain the lead before the caution flag flew yet again. On the restart No. 17N Dillon Nusbaum charged his way to second, then grabbed the lead on lap 17, sailing to the win over Koz, Woodling, No. 21C Drew Charlson, and UNOH Racer Eric Kinney II picking up his second fifth place finish of the night.

The 2026 points season comes to an end next Friday night July 31st as Alexander and Bebout presents the 29th Annual Championship Night. Season points champions will be determined in the Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and the Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks. The Dirt Track Truck Series will also be in action on this big night of racing at Limaland Motorsports Park.

General admission for ages 16 and older is $15, ages 11 to 15 is $7, and kids 10 and younger admitted FREE!
