Just a heads-up, because i haven't posted much on Facebook lately. Im no longer at the diy store. I am at a new location on the East Side of El Paso, still working my magic on the baddest cars in town. Im currently booking for March/April. Let's get your rides looking right for the summer cruising season.

If youre going to paint a car black(or any color), whoever is doing the work before/after spraying anything needs to know what theyre doing. Metal work should be straight. Body work needs to be blocked flat. Each layer should be blocked with dry guide-coat. From the first coat of epoxy primer, to the polyester primer, sealer, solid-base-coats, intercoats, and finally the clear. Each layer need to be blocked with the correct blocks and grits if youre looking for a perfect finish. Otherwise, you will get waves in the panels, and that cannot be fixed after clear, unless you take it all the way back to the the source of the problem. It starts with the foundation.

Notice the texture and "wiggle" in the light on the first picture. Thats caused by high/low spots in the body work and paint work. You'll see it better in the second picture after ive started sanding. The last picture shows the final product after sanding from 800-3k to level the clear as best as possible and polishing it out. There is still a slight "wave" but thats going to be from the work underneath the paint. Most likely the metal.

I look forward to both of these shows every year.

The Lincoln Park Day Show is a great annual cultural show in September that brings in beautiful bombs and lowriders from all over the southwest and beyond to the heart of El Paso. Celebrating our chicano cultura with art, great food, music, dancing and of course some great rides.

The Run to the Inn of The Mountain Gods is another fun local annual event that draws in hundreds of classics, muscle cars and trucks to scenic Ruidoso NM the first weekend in October. Great weather, good people and of course lots of amazing cars.

If you're planning to take your ride to either of these shows, let's gets get them in for some show prep detailing and paint correction, so your ride is among the best in attendance.

Spots are limited(3-4 per show), so do not hesitate or wait until the last minute to reach out.

You can call/text me at 915-309-5652. Or, come see me in person at DIY - Auto Detail Supplies, at 2200 Yarbrough Suite E6.
