Our customer’s classic Corvette had a VERY strange problem...
The ignition was turned off, the key was removed, and the engine just kept running. 😳

Our technician Vinnie started tracing the electrical system and found the culprit: the alternator was back feeding power into the system and keeping the engine running.
He performed a quick test to verify the diagnosis, made the necessary repair! But before we give away exactly how he tested it and what the fix ended up being...

Honda has now issued a new service bulletin addressing head gasket failures on certain affected vehicles, with coverage details that may extend to **10 years from the vehicle’s production date or 150,000 miles**, depending on the vehicle and applicable conditions.

If you’re experiencing symptoms of a head gasket failure, we recommend speaking with your local Honda dealership to confirm whether your specific vehicle qualifies for any applicable coverage before authorizing repairs.

⚑ Electrical issues can take patience to diagnose correctly!

This Civic came in with an electric concern that required our team to dig a little deeper. Unlike some repairs where a failed component is easy to identify and test, electrical issues can require monitoring battery drains, checking specific circuits, testing grounds and voltages, and tracing the system to find exactly where the problem is coming from.

We knew this Honda 1.5T had an engine problem. We didn’t realize just how bad it was until we opened it up. πŸ˜³πŸ”§

This is the same engine from our Accord that originally came in with a head gasket failure. After removing the valve cover, we found an extreme amount of oil sludge and buildup throughout the valvetrain. The buildup was severe enough that we ultimately sourced a lower-mileage replacement engine for our customer.

Heavy oil sludge can restrict important oil passages and prevent critical engine components from receiving the lubrication they need. Over time, that can contribute to accelerated wear and potentially catastrophic engine failure.

Regular oil changes aren’t just about keeping the oil β€œfresh.” They’re about protecting everything happening inside your engine. And trust us, you don’t want your engine looking like this. πŸ‘€
