Well we pulled the excursion in the shop today. We drained the coolant, replaced the coolant lines, replaced the thermostat with a new one and changed the temp sensor. Filled the system back up, burped the system and then took it out for a test drive. Good news is no leaks, bad news is the new temp sensor didn't work, so we will have to look into that. Dont think its the truck side since everything worked with the old sensor. Must be the new one, but with everything hot after the test drive we decided to just wait to check another day.

We got the new part for the motorcycle today so thats next on the list. Not sure we'll get to anything tomorrow since its yard day, lol.

Stay tuned, thanks for the support.

Well it been a minute since ive posted, but let me make up for it tonight.

Last sat we took the excursion out for its last test drive. We fully loaded the trailer, with car, race ready. We towed up the interstate about 5 miles, stopped off at the exit and it was all good, no leaks, no issues. We headed home with high hopes, but about 8 miles from home we blow a coolant hose, again. We pull over, luckily it was an easy patch to get us back home. We've ordered parts to replace everything, but we just dont trust it yet to make the next race in 6 days.

We got the carb rebuild kits in and Wednesday we rebuilt the carbs on the bike, got everything put back together, but the battery was dead, so we got a new one ordered. That came in friday and we got that put in and had a small issue with getting it running, but think we've got that figured out and got parts ordered and should be in tomorrow. We did rig the bike to finally get it running good, so hopefully the last part will let us get it put back all together and finally be able to ride it again.

Yesterday we said goodbye to the longest owned car by me and my baby. The 96 mustang went to its new owner. Im glad of who bought it and i feel confident it went to a good home.

This week's plan is to get the excursion coolant lines replaced, along with a new temp sensor and test drive it again. We wont be using it this coming weekend. We're planning on also getting the bike finished up.

With that said, we also have to get the racecar looked at and get it ready for Saturday's last season race. So here's hoping we can get all this done.

Todays update.

Last week we finished up the mustang by wet sanding the clear coat after it baked in the sun for a few days. Got it all put back together and its looks good. Not perfect, but really good!! Now that its all done were going to get it detailed out and get it up for sale. So if you know anyone looking for a car, here you go. Everything works, ac, heat, up to 25-27mpg, V8, 5 speed, drive it anywhere.

Today we got the skid steer back in the shop to look at the staying running issue again after we just changed all the fuel lines. We found a line that was getting pinched under loads, so we changed that out today with a harder line. We'll see if that fixes the issue when we get a chance to run it for a bit.

After that we got another project in the shop. We got a 97 Honda CBR600F3 motorcycle in with a carb not working. We got the parts ordered and the bike torn apart and the carbs out. Once the rebuild kits come in we'll rebuild the carbs and get it all back together.

Stay tuned for more updates and see what shows up next.

Thanks for the support.

Well we got the mustang out of the paint booth and its now sitting out in the sun to bake the paint real good before we wet sand and buff and then call this thing done.

Another thing, just because I dont post here doesn't mean im not busy, im busy every day with things around the property with my "to-do" list, lol, its just not car related so I'm not posting it here. Once we get some things caught up and get the next thing in the shop or the mustang done I'll keep everyone updated and posted.

With all that said, the paint booth is empty now, so if your clear coat is pealing or you need some body work or touch up painting done let me know and I'll get you taken care of.

Thanks for the support and stay tuned for what we get into next. Plenty of things on the horizon.

Before I forget to post. It was an exciting day today. The mustang finally got paint on it. I finished laying the base coat and went right into clear. Seems to be real good. 1 run i got completely covered and the other one you cant really see unless you know where to look. After it was done I let it tak up real good and pulled the tape. The one thing I was afraid of was it not matching real well. The front fenders did good, the top of the quarter panels I wasn't so lucky. Im hoping that once I get it out in the sun to bake dry and sand and buff the whole car it wont be as noticeable. Guess well find out in a few days???

This is the first time in 14yrs the car has been all the same color and to say I was shocked the paint was still good was awsome. I included a pic of when I bought the paint for this car 13yrs ago. Thats how long I had planned on painting it. It started as just the front bumper and over the years led to the whole top of the car, lol

Stay tuned for what's coming.

Well here's my update since its been a few days.

Thursday last week went to hell, it rained and power was in and out all day so I was in video making mode all day.

Friday: we finally got the mustang wet sanded. It took forever since the primer went on like crap. Im telling everyone this because im completely honest when it comes to what I do. I promised myself I wasn't going to hide anything. Anyway, we got it all done and wiped down and let it sit to dry up real good.

Today: after all weekend thinking, probably longer than that, lol, I realized the paint i had probably wasn't going to be enough. Well we started spraying and I quickly came to terms that I was going to run out of paint before it was to my liking. We got a good base tak coat on everything, but it needs a couple more coats. We got a couple runs because I got over zealous trying to cover a couple spots, we will address those spots before we add any more coats and hopefully you'll never be able to tell. We went to the paint shop and got more paint. Hopefully we will get this thing wrapped up tomorrow.

I also included a pic of my fake wall i built to get a cross draft going in my home built paint booth.

Stay tune.

Its late, but here's where were at after today. We had all kinds of issues spraying primer today, ones ive never had while painting. We did manage to get the car primered, but almost lost our gun in the process. No idea what was going on today, hopefully it doesn't happen when we go to paint and didn't have any issues a couple weeks ago when I painted my brother's car. Guess well find out soon enough.

After that, we got on the suburban. We found the drivers side wheel bearing was loose, tightened that up and was good to go, passenger side we did find a broken upper ball joint. Got that replaced and now its tightened up and good to go.

Tomorrow's plan is to wet sand the mustang and that means well be ready for paint.

Stay tuned.
