Im trying something new for me.

Im not one to normally film what I do as I normally just get in a rhythm I decided I give it a shot and show some of what goes into diagnosing a check engine light. Contrary to popular belief when a check engine light comes up or an abs warning light or airbag its not giving you a list parts to replace its letting know you there might be a problem with the component or wiring. In the case of this ram 1500 the 3 way coolant bypass valve has failed and came to the conclusion after testing my powers and grounds the 5 volt reference circuit and the sensor ground.

And not just testing for power with a multi meter as a wire with only few strands left holding it together can read 12 volts but not carry a load thats where the cec load cage comes in it loads the circuits with a headlight bulb that has a amp draw of roughly 4 amps.

The load cage was designed by a mobile diagnostic tech and YouTuber that ive been watching for a couple years now. And one of the guys I got to meet at ASTA this year.

ASTA wrapped up last night. It was a fantastic time getting to connect with others across the country that are at different stages owning thier business to learn from.

The class I took were fantastic and have pages of notes and take aways to better improve my customers overall experience in getting thier car repaired quickly efficiently and properly the first time.

Many of the people I met this week have helped me from the very beginning of my career as a shop owner. To have others in your corner to bounce ideas off of or ask questions is fantastic and needed no matter who or where you are in life.

As im sitting in Rick White's class at asta in Raleigh and he has said lots of great things that has gotten my mind thinking.
