🛠️ Tinted Testaments | Clarity in Christ

Sometimes life leaves us feeling like we’ve drifted farther from God than we ever intended. The good news is that God doesn’t wait for us to have it all together before inviting us back.

“Even now” is one of the most beautiful phrases in Scripture.

In Joel 2:12-13, God calls His people to return to Him with all their hearts—not through empty religious motions, but with genuine repentance. He reminds us that He is gracious, compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in faithful love. He isn’t looking for perfection; He’s looking for hearts that are willing to come home.

Isaiah 55:6-7 echoes the same invitation:

“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call to Him while He is near. Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, so He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will freely forgive.”

Maybe you’ve wandered. Maybe you’ve become distracted. Maybe you’ve convinced yourself that you’ve gone too far.

You haven’t.

The enemy whispers that your failures define you. God declares that His mercy is greater than your mistakes. Repentance isn’t about earning God’s love—it’s about turning back to the One who has loved you all along.

Just as window tint removes the harsh glare and brings clarity to what’s inside, surrendering your heart to Christ removes the lies that keep you from seeing His grace clearly.

🙏 A Prayer From Psalm 51:10-12

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore the joy of Your salvation to me, and sustain me by giving me a willing spirit.

Lord, I return to You today. Search my heart and reveal anything that is keeping me from You. Thank You that Your mercy is new every morning and that Your forgiveness is freely given through Jesus Christ. Create in me a clean heart, renew my spirit, restore my joy, and help me walk faithfully with You. Amen.

Tinted Testaments | Isaiah 58:10

What if the light you’re praying for is found in serving someone else… or in humbly allowing someone to serve you?

Isaiah 58:10 reminds us that when we pour ourselves out for the hungry, the hurting, and the oppressed, God causes our light to shine in the darkness. Serving others reflects the heart of Christ. But sometimes, we also need the humility to receive help when we’re the ones struggling.

Many of us find it easier to give than to receive. Yet God often works through the hands and hearts of His people. Accepting help isn’t weakness—it can be an act of faith, trust, and community.

“If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall become like the noonday.” — Isaiah 58:10

Today, be willing to do both:
❤️ Look for someone you can serve.
🤝 Accept help if someone is reaching out to you.
💡 Allow God to use you—and allow Him to use others in your life.

Freedom in Christ isn’t just about what we’re free from—it’s also about what we’re free for.

Paul reminds us in Galatians 5:13 that our freedom isn’t meant to fuel selfishness. Instead, it’s an opportunity to love, serve, and care for others.

This past week here at Inner Banks we have been reminded of this ourself.
