Layton's Boatworks Layton's Boatworks offers the Layton Bay 22' line, Backwater 16' line & Upcoming Layton 270 Line. We are also the manufacture for Tideline Boats.

Layton’s Boatworks is owned and operated by Doug Layton. Doug brings with him 25 years of boat building experience. Doug, a former Albemarle Boats employee, is factory certified in Volvo, Yanmar & Mercury and is our “in house” head electronics technician. Our company is based on the belief that our customers’ needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs.

As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.

Well, the first 27 is just a week away from completion! She’ll receive her final paint this weekend.

We took her out for a sea trial today to see how she performed with everything installed on the boat. She finished out at 7,000 pounds fully fueled and ran just as we expected.

She runs great, tops out at 50 mph with a single 350 Suzuki, and handles amazingly. We couldn’t be happier!
