Apologies in advance for a long post but this needs to be said:
To all of my friends and valued customers who may have seen multiple posts on FB from an individual bashing Fast Lane and our employees, I would like to tell the whole story here. This individual was involved in an MVA where his Jeep Grand Cherokee was hit from behind. The damage was minor and the vehicle was drivable but he insisted that it be towed and he & his wife went to the hospital to be checked out. The Jeep was driven onto the flatbed an off at our shop. In the days after, he came in to retrieve his belongings and was handed the key. He claims he brought the key back in but we have no record of it. The insurance adjuster came in to look at the car and that's when we realized there was no key.
We called the owner of the Jeep and he stated that he didn't have it. When the insurance company called us to move his Jeep to the collision center I called a locksmith and had an aftermarket key fob made that started and operated the vehicle. We drove it onto the truck and off of the truck at body shop. Once the repair was completed, the owner picked it up and called Fast Lane to complain about the aftermarket key fob that we had made. The next day the Jeep broke down and he blamed it on the aftermarket key fob causing issues with the vehicle.
Meanwhile, I had already ordered a factory key fob from our local Jeep dealer not knowing that myself, my employee and my company were being bashed by this person on Facebook. I called Mr Thomas and explained that i was trying to rectify the issue at hand and with his permission, we would tow the Jeep to dealer to have the new key programmed. He agreed to remove the slanderous post and stated that another tow company towed the Jeep to Kelly Chrysler to be repaired but they couldn't look at it for a few days. I sent a truck to pick up the Jeep at Kelly Chrysler and the vehicle was completely dead with no power at all.
Brown Daub looked at the Jeep and found that someone tried to jump start the battery but had the polarity reversed and blew out the fuse block. Also, the battery was not hooked up properly and also showed that it was weak.
Even though none of this was our fault, I authorized Brown Daub to replace the parts and charge it to our account. I explained this to Mr Thomas and told him that they could do the repairs and reprogram the new key. He stated that he needed to take his second key to the dealer to have it programmed to match. Had he said that he had a second key the whole time all of this could have been avoided! In any case, I paid for all the repairs and re-programming just to make this headache go away in the amount of $902!
A few days later, I received a phone call from his insurance company stating that he wanted Fast Lane to pay for his rental car the additional days that were not covered. I refused! This is when the next round of bashing started.
My friends, family and customers know that we have an outstanding reputation for 30 years of service and we pride ourselves with honesty and integrity and will continue to do so as long as we exist! Please disregard the defamation of character and slander from this individual as we try to move on.
