Water Leaking Inside from RV A/C?

When you clean your RV rooftop A/C, don’t forget to make sure the condensation tray drain holes are open and clear. As your A/C removes moisture from the air, that water collects in the condensation tray and needs somewhere to go.

If those drain holes become plugged with dirt or debris, the water can build up and:

* Overflow into the RV, potentially dripping through the ceiling assembly or vents.

* Soak insulation or ceiling materials, which can lead to staining, swelling, delamination, mold, or hidden water damage.

* Get picked up by the blower, causing water droplets to blow from the vents.

* Pool inside the A/C, keeping components and metal surfaces wet and encouraging corrosion, mildew, and debris buildup.

* Make it look like you have an RV roof leak, when the real problem is condensate that simply can’t get out of the A/C.

After cleaning your A/C, always make sure those drain holes are clear so the condensation has somewhere to go.

Bumps on Your RV Wall Are a Warning Sign 🚨

Those bumps or blisters on your RV wall can be a warning sign of water damage behind the wall covering. By the time you see signs like this inside your RV, water has already found a way in.

One of the most important things you can do is regularly inspect the sealant on your RV roof and catch problems before they turn into expensive water damage.

Replacing Failed RV Water Valves

This is a perfect example of why RV repair is usually charged by the hour instead of by the job. Every RV is built differently, and you never know what you’re going to run into until you get in there.

These failed water valves were buried deep inside the RV in a tight space, making access half the battle. Sometimes replacing the part is the easy part, getting to it is what takes the time.

Overtightened Screws Can Destroy Your RV Skylight

There’s a right way to tighten the screws on an RV skylight. Overtightening them can put too much stress on the plastic, causing it to crack and eventually allowing water into your RV.

Turning 5 RV Sewer Connections Into One Clean Setup

This is a destination trailer, so it isn’t meant to travel. Many of the RVs at this park are seasonal and stay on the same site year-round for many years. Their owners essentially treat their RVs like a cabin, so having permanent white PVC sewer plumbing installed is common. If a more desirable site opens up, they simply move their RV and have the plumbing redone to fit the new site.

Labor Day is over, and in our Michigan service area, that means winterization is on everyone’s mind! 🥶

The requests are already rolling in this morning, and our annual winterization customers are starting to send us their last camping dates for the season.

We are ready too! We learned we need to pre-order very early to get enough antifreeze without having to buy individual gallon bottles. Last week, we picked up our order that we placed in July.

Hopefully, we won’t run out again this year! 😬
