Why This Fitting Keeps Leaking

Due to the current air quality from the wildfires, we will not be performing service calls today, July 15, and possibly Thursday, July 16. We are contacting all scheduled customers to reschedule their appointments as soon as conditions improve. Thank you for your understanding.

P.S. If you’re not familiar with our area, we’re located on the east side of Michigan, where the Air Quality Index is currently in the 800s.

Northern Michigan has some of the worst air quality on earth right now thanks to wildfires ongoing to our west in Minnesota, and north in Canada.

Some AQI readings are well over 500. Map below shows current AQI readings.

❤️ Because of our customers, we were able to donate $2,690 to a local Iosco County nonprofit.

June has come to an end, and we're excited to share the results of our first Kickoff to Camping Season Community Outreach.

Throughout the month of June, Mobile RV Tech Services donated a percentage of our gross profits to support Harbor Church's 1 Million for One More campaign.

Thanks to every RV owner who trusted us with their repairs during June, we were able to donate a total of $2,690.

This is something we're excited to continue. Each June, we'll support a different Iosco County nonprofit or community fundraiser as our way of giving back to the community that supports our small business.

🇺🇸 4th of July Holiday Service 🇺🇸

If you need RV service this holiday weekend, please read this entire post.

We are open and accepting emergency service calls throughout the entire extended 4th of July holiday weekend for RV owners in our service area.

We serve RV owners in Iosco County, including East Tawas, Tawas City, Oscoda, Hale, and Whittemore, along with the surrounding campgrounds:

• East Tawas City Park
• Tawas Point State Park
• Tawas RV Park
• Brown's Landing
• KOA Holiday
• Northern Bear Paw
• Old Orchard Campground

With the large number of visitors in our area during the holiday, 📲 cell service can become overloaded. Phone calls, text messages, and voicemail notifications may be delayed. If either you or we are at Tawas Point State Park or Old Orchard Campground, we may not receive your call or message until we leave the campground, which can be several hours.

There are 3 ways to request service. Use whichever option works best based on your cell or Wi-Fi service. We know coverage varies throughout Iosco County.

1️⃣: Call (989) 820-7373 and leave a voicemail. We will call you back within a few minutes to a few hours after we wrap up on our current service call.

2️⃣: Text (989) 820-7373 with your name, RV location, and a brief description of your RV issue. Please do not include photos in your first text message to ensure your message sends and is received by us. Once we respond, you can send photos if needed.

3️⃣ Book online through our website. Click Schedule Now > Online Booking. (Link in the comments.)

Please do not request service through Facebook, Instagram, or other social media messages. Those messages are not monitored for emergency service requests.

If you choose to call and leave a voicemail, we also recommend sending a short text afterward letting us know you left a message. This gives us another opportunity to receive your request if voicemail notifications are delayed by several hours.

If you are not in our service area and need help, you can search your location on RV Help and see who is located in your area to provide mobile RV service.

We’re in the final stretch of our Community Outreach fundraiser!

This month we are donating a percentage of our gross profits to Harbor Church's “1 Million for One More” campaign.

Harbor Church’s goal is to build a larger church that allows them to welcome more people and continue expanding their community outreach. The Back-to-School outreach, My Church Loves You, helps kids get ready for school with free brand name shoes, backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, sports physicals, and more. It’s a fun family block party with food and inflatables.

A FUN video recap of the event is in the comments, and as you can see, they are at capacity, using every inch of space, even the road, to pull it off. A larger facility will allow Harbor Church to safely host these events and continue growing their impact in the community.

Broken RV Water Heater

To address the basic question that we always get when we post anything without an anode rod.

Aluminum tank water heaters use a plastic drain plug because aluminum does not require an anode rod for corrosion protection.

Steel tank water heaters use an anode rod instead of a plastic plug. The anode rod is designed to corrode first, helping protect the steel tank from rust and extending the life of the water heater. It should be inspected periodically and replaced as it wears out.

This information does not apply to on-demand water heaters.
