My 3-year-old son cried and begged me not to take him to daycare until I stormed into the facility.

I'm 29F, a single mom to my 3 year old son, Johnny. Until recently, he loved daycare. He'd wake up excited, pack his tiny backpack, and practically drag me out the door so he could go. But on one random Monday, everything changed.
He clung to my legs, sobbing:
"NO, MOMMY, NO! DON'T MAKE ME GO!"
I brushed it off—kids have moods, right? But the next day, same thing. And the next. Full-on begging, screaming, tears.
I even asked his pediatrician, and she said, "Normal separation anxiety at this age."
But it didn't feel normal. This wasn't whining. This was FEAR.
That Friday, I lost my patience and snapped at him to stop. He froze—eyes wide, trembling. Not stubborn. TERRIFIED.
I scooped him up and whispered, "Sweetheart, why don't you like daycare anymore?"
He shivered and mumbled, barely audible:
"No lunch. Please, Mommy… no lunch."
Lunch? My stomach DROPPED.
The next morning I promised to pick him up before lunch. He agreed to go, but his look when I left—pure desperation—nearly broke me.
Instead of waiting, I left work early and went back right at lunchtime. Parents weren't allowed inside, but there were glass panels.
I pressed my face to the window, scanning the room. And when I finally saw what was happening to my son, I gasped out loud:
"NO WAY!"⬇️⬇️⬇️
