Custom auto glass jobs are by far the best. Even after nearly 19 years in the industry and working on vehicles from the 1920s to 2026 models, I would never call myself a “Master Technician.”
I say that because the same people jumping in the comments claiming they’re the best of the best, saying they could do it faster, or calling me lazy or my favorite hone my skills and learn my trade, are usually the ones who stopped learning a long time ago.
Meanwhile, I’m over here taking on challenges especially classics because that’s what keeps the job interesting. Anyone can replace glass in the same everyday vehicles over and over. It takes patience, skill, and a willingness to learn to work on the old stuff where nothing goes as planned.
This industry changes every single day. New technology, new methods, and new challenges keep all of us learning or at least they should. So, just because you’ve got a piece of paper calling you a “Master Technician” doesn’t mean you’ve mastered everything.

Truth is, nobody has. And in an industry that never stops evolving, the second you think you know it all is the second you start falling behind.

Excuse the rant, but this has become a daily issue with my warehouse. I’ve called, emailed, and sent photos and videos clearly outlining the problems, with red markers and large lettering, yet the same issues continue to happen. As a small business and a one-man operation, I already have enough on my plate without constantly dealing with damaged glass shipments.
What’s especially frustrating is paying for glass, receiving it damaged, and then being charged again for replacements before the damaged pieces are even picked up. Even worse, much of this damage appears to happen at the warehouse or during transfers between locations. after multiple people have handled products and dont notice the damaged parts that are supposed to be cleaned, inspected, and ready for the customer.

At the end of the day, I’m simply trying to provide my customers with quality parts and the level of service they expect from me. These ongoing issues are making that increasingly difficult.
