It’s not every day that we see 16-year-old customers on a purchase journey, but Victor’s story is one worth sharing, because his determination, work ethic, and smart money habits, demonstrate a promising path from a piggy bank to purchasing a vehicle!
For Victor, saving money began at an early age once he learned the basic concept of how money works. He started setting aside money from birthdays and holidays, then learned he could do more if he earned more. He became a young soccer referee at age 13 and later started a part-time job at age 15, turning his earnings into savings with every paycheck. His parents helped him open a bank account and taught him the importance of making good financial decisions, knowing Victor had a goal to buy his first car.
When the time came for Victor to shop for his first vehicle, he was involved in the entire decision-making process, from selecting a vehicle, reviewing purchase and finance options, to ensuring cash deposit amounts and affordable monthly payments. His parents discussed options and let Victor decide how much he was willing to spend each month, while considering the cost of fuel and routine maintenance. Victor even calculated how many hours he has to work to put gas in the Bronco Sport!
Like his parents, we also love that Victor has this financial discipline and knowledge at such a young age and we can't wait to see what his future holds! In the meantime, we wish Victor all the best playing Varsity Soccer in Webster, maintaining his High Honor Roll w/Distinction, and training at the dojo where he earned his Black Belt in karate. And of course, driving his “new” 2024 Bronco Sport Outer Banks! Congratulations Victor! (and Mom and Dad too!) 🚙👏
