The list of people that we have to thank for these last couple weeks is too long to list and I don’t want to forget anyone. Anything from baby sitters, help in the shop, sponsor money, etc, we’ve utilized them all. Put a stockcar together for some end of the year shows. The last 10 days the earliest my head has hit the pillow is about 1 am, but… we got Jennifer Marie Docekal’s car done (yes, she technically owns more of it that I do 😂 ) in enough time to get Tyler Droste his first 3 nights ever in a stockcar last weekend, then threw him to the wolves at the 100k to win race this week. Qualifying didn’t go well so he started in the D main, but made his way to the C, then to the B main. The were taking top 10 to the A main, he was in 13th and going forward when he had to pull off for mechanical issues.

To say Jennifer and I are happy would be an understatement. For a group of open wheel guys that know next to nothing about owning, setting up, and driving a stockcar we have shown some good promise.

We go back to Farley to try to qualify Friday night for the big show, then will see where the fall takes us. Plan wasn’t to become stockcar racers, but might have to play a little more with it yet.

Fun facts! Joe Docekal is 5th all time at Benton County Speedway “The Bullring” with 17 sport mod wins!

Here are the numbers from Sunday night's program at The Bullring.

MODIFIED – Trevor Fitz earned his first Benton County Speedway win and became the 96th different Modified winner in weekly racing history at The Bullring. Of the 96 winners, 21 earned their first win in the month of June. In 40 years of Modified racing at The Bullring, there has been at least one first-time winner in 35 seasons. There has been at least one first-time Modified winner in each of the last six seasons.

STOCK CAR – Kaden Reynolds won for the third time this season and for the 12th time in his weekly racing career in Vinton. Reynolds is now tied with Phil Holtz for ninth in Stock Car wins at the speedway. Two of his 12 wins have come during the month of June. In the division’s 24 year history at The Bullring, a Stock Car driver has won at least three features in a single season 53 times. Not only has Reynolds won at least three Stock Car features in each of the last three seasons, he is the only driver with more than one win per season since 2021.

HOBBY STOCK – Joren Fisher earned his first win of the season and the fifth of his weekly racing career at the speedway. His five wins tie him with Brian Irvine, Chad Koch and Nick Murty for 31st on the Hobby Stock wins list at the speedway. Sunday’s win was the earliest in the season Fisher won in Vinton. In fact, his four previous wins all came in July or August. Fisher has now won at least one Hobby Stock feature in each of the last three seasons at The Bullring, which is the longest active streak in the division.

SPORTMOD – Joe Docekal won for the first time since July 2022 and for the 17th time in his weekly racing career in Vinton. Docekal’s 17 SportMod wins place him alone in fifth on the track’s wins list for the division. He sits one win behind Kyle Olson in SportMod wins at The Bullring. Docekal has won more SportMod features during the month of June (6) than any other calendar month.

SPORT COMPACT – Stephen Randall won for the first time in his weekly racing career (track points races) in Vinton. He became the 50th different Sport Compact driver in weekly racing history at the speedway. He is the eighth Sport Compact driver to earn a career-first win in the month of June. In 17 seasons of Sport Compact racing in Vinton, there has been at least one first-time winner in 16 seasons.

LEGEND – Michael Weber’s opening night Legends win was the third of his weekly racing career at The Bullring. His three wins rank second-most all-time for the division at the speedway. In his career, Weber has now earned one win each during the months of May, June and July.

For the first time since the wreck at super nationals last year I got to sit my own butt in the seat of my car. Tyler Droste been wheeling it in the mean time while I’ve been busy and he’s got it working pretty good.

Went 4th to 1st in the heat.
5th to 1st in the feature.

Had an engine issue before we even left the shop before the Spencer race so I have to thank Curt Hilmer for letting us run his crate motor while ours is getting fixed.
