Been looking at the X-LAB RS5 or RS7?

We’ve had quite a few people asking about these two lately, and for good reason.

They’re both well-built road bikes for riders who want to spend more time on the road; whether that means steady rides around the Finger Lakes, longer weekend miles, or getting back into riding with a bike that feels good underneath you.

The RS5 is a solid aluminum road bike. The RS7 is lighter, with a full-carbon frame for riders looking for a little more responsiveness. The best one for you depends less on specs and more on how and where you plan to ride.

The Keuka Lake Outlet Trail is a good reminder that a ride does not have to be long or difficult to be worth your time. 😍

Between Penn Yan and Dresden, it is an easygoing place to ride when you want a few quiet miles, a little shade, and a break from traffic. It works well for families, casual riders, and visitors who brought bikes along but do not want to spend the whole day planning a route.

Most bikes do not come into the shop because something went dramatically wrong.

More often, it is a brake that has started rubbing.
A chain that skips once in a while.
A tire that keeps losing air.
Small things; until they become the reason the bike stays in the garage.

That is why regular service matters! A few adjustments now can make the rest of the riding season a lot more enjoyable. If something on your bike has not felt quite right, bring it by. We will take a look and explain what it needs in a way you can understand.

Too little air can make it feel slow and soft.
Too much can make every rough patch in the road feel bigger than it needs to.

The tricky part is that there is no one right PSI for every rider. Your tire size, weight, gear, and where you ride all make a difference.

It runs between Penn Yan and Dresden along the old canal route. The trail is mostly flat, easy to follow, and a comfortable option for families, casual riders, and anyone who wants a few quiet miles without getting on busy roads.
