I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THIS TO BE INTERESTING. THE HOUSE IS GONE AND THE LOT IS NOW PART OF THE PARKING LOT FOR LAKESIDE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Part of Lakeside and Lester Park's history as well.
Northland Country Club was burned to the ground, several homes just north of Lester Park in a development called Pinehurst on the Lester burned, and a few homes in North 60th Ave. East burst into flames when smoke from the larger fire, still containing un-burned fuel was ignited by pilot lights of kitchen stoves. Residents were outside hosing down their roofs at the time.

Today in 1918 a fire started near Cloquet and burned its way past Duluth, leaving 453 people dead and 52,000 more injured or displaced. Learn more about this tragedy here: http://zenithcity.com/october-12-1918-cloquet-fire-1918/
