🚌🧡 SCHOOL IS AROUND THE CORNER! 🖤🚌

Can you believe it? Summer is winding down and another school year is just around the corner! As our kids head back to school, we want to remind everyone to WATCH FOR SCHOOL BUSES and slow down in school zones and residential areas.

- When you see those flashing red lights — STOP!
- Never pass a stopped school bus.
- Watch carefully for children getting on and off the bus.
- Slow down and give yourself extra time, especially during morning and afternoon bus routes.

A few extra seconds of patience could make all the difference in getting a child safely home. ❤️

From all of us at the Dowagiac Fire Department, let's work together to make this school year a safe one for our kids! 📚✏️🚒

This photo right here shows exactly what every driver is supposed to do when they see flashing lights ahead.

As T.P. Hovis was hooking up a semi, this professional truck driver saw the warning lights, moved over, gave the operator room, and helped create a safer work zone.

That simple move matters.

It takes only a few seconds to slow down and change lanes, but those few seconds could be the difference between a tow operator finishing the job safely or never making it home.

KUDOS TO THIS TRUCK DRIVER FOR DOING IT RIGHT.

🚨 See flashing lights? SLOW DOWN.
🚛 Move over when you safely can.
👀 Stay alert and give responders room to work.

SLOW DOWN. MOVE OVER. SAVE A LIFE.

Sheriff Clint Roach advises:

Before you post those first-day-of-school photos, take a second look.

A child’s name, teacher, grade, school, or other personal details may seem innocent on their own, but together they can give someone with bad intentions far more information than they should have.

Celebrate the milestone!

But if you want to share your first-day photos online, consider keeping those unique details off social media. Share those special memories privately with family and friends instead.

Be like KJ… think before you post!
