DOTD announces staff are prepared to respond and take precautionary measures in the event of adverse weather. Below freezing temperatures and a possible wintry mix are forecast for portions of the state later this week and into the weekend.

Crews will be out scouting the bridges and overpasses, and field crews are ready to begin pre-treating measures as necessary.

Additionally, DOTD is prepared to close certain bridges and overpasses that are deemed impassable, or that have been identified as preemptive emergency closures as part of each region’s snow and ice plan as applicable.

Motorists are advised that some bridges and overpasses may become unsafe for travel before a closure notice is issued based on the speed and intensity of the storm, and should take responsibility to drive accordingly.
