🚨 Autumn Alert: Don't Let Fall Weather Cause Car Repair! 🍂
Fall is a beautiful time, but the changing weather puts unique stress on your vehicle, often exposing weaknesses left over from summer heat!
A simple seasonal check-up can help you avoid the most common fall breakdowns and costly repairs:
🛠️ 3 Repairs You Can Prevent This Fall
* Dead Battery: Summer heat damages your battery, and the first chilly morning can be the final straw. If your battery is 3+ years old or starts are sluggish, get it tested now to avoid being stranded.
* No Heat/Defrost: As you switch from AC to heat, minor system leaks or a faulty blower motor will suddenly show up. A quick check ensures your defroster works for safe, fog-free commutes.
* Worn Wipers & Brakes: Wet leaves, rain, and early frost demand top-notch visibility and stopping power. Replace streaking wiper blades and have your brakes inspected for a safe grip on slick roads.
Pro-Tip: Cold air causes tire pressure to drop! Check and inflate your tires weekly to maintain traction and prevent uneven wear.
Don't wait for a breakdown. Schedule your fall inspection to enjoy the season worry-free!

⚠️ DEF in the Diesel Tank⚠️
If you drive a GMC Duramax (or any modern diesel) and mistakenly put DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) into the fuel tank, you need to act immediately!

🚨 DO NOT TURN THE KEY! Even cycling the ignition on will prime the fuel pump and push the contaminated fluid into the rest of the system.
* DO NOT START THE ENGINE! Running the engine with DEF in the fuel can turn a $2,000 repair into a $15,000+ full fuel system replacement.
* CALL FOR A TOW: Do not drive it, and do not let the tow truck driver turn on the ignition.
At 707 Diesel & Automotive Repair in Dixon, CA, we specialize in high-stakes diesel repairs, including DEF contamination. We have the expertise to assess the damage and explore the most cost-effective solution, which often involves draining, flushing, and replacing damaged components.
Caught it early? Get it here now! Time is fuel system health.
