Some serious front-end work on this old Dodge. 🔧

This 1980s Dodge Ram came in for upper and lower ball joints and front axle U-joints.

Ball joints allow the steering knuckles to move while supporting the vehicle’s weight. Axle U-joints transfer power to the front wheels while still allowing them to turn. When these components wear, they may cause looseness, clunking, binding or steering concerns.

The front end was disassembled, the worn components were replaced, and everything was carefully reassembled.

Newer vehicle doesn’t always mean clean filters.

These came out of a 2023 Honda Civic.

The cabin air filter helps clean the air entering the vehicle through the heating and A/C system—the air you and your passengers breathe. This one was packed with dirt, pine needles and other debris.

The engine air filter protects the engine from airborne dirt. When it becomes restricted, it can reduce airflow and may contribute to poor performance, reduced efficiency or other drivability concerns.

Filter condition depends on mileage and driving environment—not only the vehicle’s age.

Need your filters checked? Visit wrenches-auto.com and select Request an Appointment.

An overheating engine is a warning—not a diagnosis. 🌡️

Low coolant, leaks, radiator restrictions, thermostat problems, cooling-fan faults and other issues can all cause temperatures to rise.

If your vehicle starts overheating, pull over safely, shut it off and let it cool. Never open a hot cooling system.

Need the cause properly diagnosed? Visit wrenches-auto.com and select Request an Appointment.

Ever wonder what some of the major parts under your hood actually do?

While engine designs and component locations vary between vehicles, these basic parts perform many of the same jobs:

Valve cover: Seals and protects the valvetrain while keeping engine oil contained.
Intake manifold: Distributes incoming air to the engine’s cylinders.
Exhaust manifold: Collects exhaust gases leaving the cylinders and directs them into the exhaust system.
Air-filter box: Houses the filter that removes dirt and debris from incoming air.
Alternator: Produces electrical power while the engine is running and helps keep the battery charged.
Serpentine belt: Transfers crankshaft rotation to belt-driven accessories.
Oil filter: Captures contaminants as engine oil circulates.
Oil pan: Stores engine oil underneath the engine.

Understanding the basics makes it easier to recognize when a warning light, leak or unusual noise deserves attention.
