They always say, Cummins Motor and a Allison 1000 Transmission would be the perfect setup. We did just that. With the CA Conversions kit and adapter plates we were able to get it all finished up. This pickup started out as a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Standard 6 speed G56 Transmission single cab dually. There are multiple benefits to this conversion.
First and foremost was getting rid of the CV Joint on the front driveline. We went from a non-serviceable front driveline to a single UJoint serviceable driveline. That alone will save stress, money and worries about the demolishing factory front CV Driveline.
Having an tough and durable automatic transmission is a necessity when you rely on the pickup to perform at the most important times. This customer has went they multiple G56 transmissions, so doing the conversion was an idea that was easily convincing.
You might ask what exactly the interior looks like. We made it look factory. We scavenged onto a factory automatic steering column with column shift, with factory automatic foot pedals and did the swap. Sitting in the driver seat everything works as a factory automatic 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 would function. It’s not a Standard transmission or interior anymore!
With this combination of motor and transmission the drivability of this pickup is absolutely a night and day difference. Driving 70mph down the highway the pickup is doing 1600RPM making the expensive price of fuel less painful. This conversion is well worth the money, especially if you have already had a couple transmission rebuilds.
If you are interested in having this conversion installed in any application (12 and 24 valve Cummins, 6.7 Cummins, Any and all Powerstrokes, and Medium duty trucks) we would be more than happy to get you information and pricing! Give us a call or stop by!
