We're starting to think Southwest Speedway controls the weather!

After two rainout, we're giving it one more shot - 3rd times the charm, we hope 🤞

🚫 No outside food or drinks

We know late season Friday nights can be a little tougher with school, sports and everything else going on. But we checked, and Dickinson High School and Trinity High School are both on the road that night, so there's no excuses! 😎

Come out and support the new Southwest Speedway group as we prepare for a FULL 2027 season! 🏁

🚨 Kart Races CANCELED for Saturday! 🚨

There are go kart races this Saturday the 15th. The kart track is located inside our big track.

Gates open at 4pm.
Pit meeting at 5:30pm (hot laps to follow)
Races start at 6pm
There is seating on the sides of the grandstands but the actual stands will be closed. Free to watch.
Drivers $25
Pit People $10
Classes: Adult Heavy and Adult Light (all are welcome to come turn some laps)
NO Concessions!
Sponsors: Winn Construction, West Dakota Oil, Just In Glass, The Pit Stop, Northwest Tire, Rick and Janelle Schmidt

Well... not the post we want to make. Thats 2 for 2 with Mother Nature winning.

With the forecast in the 100s, sunny, hot and a chance of storms in the evening, we have decided to POSTPONE our test and tune.

Please note, we are only postponing the event. We plan to make this up and the team will get together in the next week or 2 and figure out the next step!

Well... not the post we want to make. Thats 2 for 2 with Mother Nature winning.

With the forecast in the 100s, sunny, hot and a chance of storms in the evening, we have decided to POSTPONE our test and tune.

Please note, we are only postponing the event. We plan to make this up and the team will get together in the next week or 2 and figure out the next step!

It's Ｔｅｓｔ ＆ Ｔｕｎｅ week!! 🏁

Join us THIS WEDNESDAY from 5:30-9:30pm!

Teams will be able to make unlimited laps throughout the evening. The track will be prepped and ready to go! This would be a perfect time to come out and test everything before Gov Cup this weekend at Dacotah Speedway!

Besides testing your cars, it gives our team time to test out the reconstructed front straightaway and our new LED stadium lighting and making sure they are shining in the right spots!

Pit Gates Open at 4pm
Red Draw Booth opens at 4:30pm
Test and Tune 5:30pm - 9:30pm

Pit Prices:
Drivers $50 You must have your raceciever with and working!
Pit Crew/Fans: $5

🚨🚨 There will be NO concessions on Wednesday. And the grandstand/fan side will be CLOSED. Everyone is welcomed on the pit side.

🏁 Southwest Speedway Test & Tune – Wednesday, July 29 🏁

Join us from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM for our official Test & Tune at Southwest Speedway.

Teams will be able to make unlimited laps throughout the evening on a freshly prepared race surface.

With this Test & Tune taking place just two days before the 2026 North Dakota Governor's Cup at Dacotah Speedway, it's the perfect opportunity to make sure your car is dialed in and your equipment is race-ready for one of the region's most prestigious events.

This night is more than just testing—it gives our new board the opportunity to:�
🏁 Fine-tune the reconstructed front straightaway�
💡 Check the positioning of our brand-new LED stadium lighting

This event also serves as a fundraiser to help continue improvements at Southwest Speedway.

Pit Gates Open: 4:30 PM�
Test and Tune: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Pit Passes:�

🌧️ Dakota Classic Modified Tour at Southwest Speedway Cancelled 🌧️

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans for us!

After receiving over a inch and a quarter of rain at the speedway today, combined with the cool temperatures and additional rain in the forecast, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Southwest Speedways night of the 2026 Dakota Classic Modified Tour😞

As of Monday evening, our facility was race-ready. The new Finish Line Promotions Board has worked incredibly hard over the past several months to bring Southwest Speedway back to life, and we were excited to welcome everyone for an outstanding night of racing.

We know some may wonder why this decision is being made this early. In years past, a last-minute cancellation primarily affected the speedway. This year with an abbreviated season, it’s different. We have multiple outside vendors who dedicate their time, equipment, and staff to make this race night a success. Making this decision now helps ensure they aren't burdened with the expense and inconvenience of a last-minute cancellation.

While we're disappointed that the Dakota Classic Tour won't be making its stop in Dickinson this year, we're excited about the future.

There are many exciting updates already completed, with even more still to come!

We also want to extend a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make this transformation possible:

Drivers, please park close, angle yourself on the front fence, back fence and in the middle! Please keep everything tight together.

You can NOT park in the pits or anywhere on the speedway grounds until WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON! We need the dirt road and pits to dry out!
