We received some photos of a project bike that we helped on that is so cool we had to share. This is Owen Billingsley’s bike and his words about the bike.

It’s a 1966 Gilera Giubileo 202 Super. My research indicates it's a "scrambler" submodel that Gilera made for the American market. The Giubileo (Jubilee) series was started in 1959 to celebrate Gilera's first 50 years, and this was the largest engine in the series. Sears sold 98 and 124cc Gileras with Sears labeling, but this one was sold by a motorcycle shop in Granger that's long gone. I'm the second owner; the original owner still lives in Bountiful and rode it all over the hills behind the U before they were developed. This bike was garaged for 55 years after it stopped running in 1971.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Malcolm Smith.

Today, we mourn the loss of a true legend in motorcycling and off-road racing, Malcolm Smith, who passed away at the age of 83. This loss is deeply personal for Glen Helen Raceway, as Malcolm was not only an icon in the sport but also the racing partner and great friend of our founder, Bud Feldkamp.
Malcolm’s support, alongside the entire Malcolm Smith Motorsports team, has been a cornerstone of our community. His passion for the sport and his incredible legacy will continue to inspire generations of riders.
Rest in peace, Malcolm 🙏
