We spent the day at Long Lake Marina installing XPEL Marine Protection Film on this 23-foot Nautique.
The project came about because Long Lake was looking for a solution to some concerns their customer had about keeping the sides of the boat looking good over time. Dock contact, fender rub marks, loading and unloading, and everyday use can all take a toll on a boat’s finish.
To help address those concerns, we wrapped the full sides of the boat in XPEL Marine Protection Film. The film is designed to take the abuse so the gelcoat doesn’t have to.
This was a big installation and definitely pushed us outside our normal routine. Marine PPF is a different animal, and with just two installers on site there was a learning curve along the way. But that’s part of taking on new challenges and expanding what we’re capable of doing.
The film is installed and looking great. Once everything has fully cured, we’ll return to apply the edge seal and put the finishing touches on the project.
