The need for Auto mechanics: 250,000 shortage nationwide. Ford’s President Jim Farley said. Ford Foundation and Bloomberg foundation donated $5 million to Detroit Public schools. Deputy Mayor Brian White present for announcement and speaks about the impact for City of Detroit!

We were invited to attend a landmark announcement focused on the future of automotive and skilled trades education. The event held at Breithaupt Career and Technical Center brought together Jim Farley, CEO of Ford; Michael Bloomberg, Founder of Bloomberg Philanthropies; Dr. Nikolai Vitti, Superintendent of Detroit Public Schools Community District; and City of Detroit Deputy Mayor Brian White, speaking on behalf of Mayor Mary Sheffield, highlighted the transformative impact of the $5 million investment from Ford Foundation⁠ and Bloomberg Philanthropies⁠ in career and technical education, noting that the partnership will help prepare Detroit’s next generation of innovators and skilled professionals.

A Grand Prix weekend full of activity!

Started at the GDYT Career Event at Cass Tech, connected with NXG members, reunited with our 2024 Engine Building Bootcamp interns, and met some of our 2026 EBB participants. Then it was off to the races to spend time with friends and fellow Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA) members.
A weekend filled with networking, mentorship, motorsports, and building the future workforce!
