I've officially added a new page to my website! 👀 Along with some fresh design updates, better mobile and desktop optimization, and even more photos and links added!

As the only shop in Detroit Lakes offering Paint Protection Film, I wanted to make it easier to learn about the protection it provides, and the different coverage options available.

If you think I'm obsessive over the attention to detail of my website (that I've done entirely on my own), just imagine what I'll do for your vehicle 😉.

First 2027 in the shop! Another brand new vehicle owner choosing our work over the dealership 🙏. There were a few factory sanding marks to polish away on this hybrid Honda CR-V, hard water runs, scuffs that I'm guessing happened some time during delivery, and even a chip of paint missing from the edge of the hood. Everything was polished and fixed like it was never there, the interior leather was coated, everything on the exterior was stripped and prepped, and the exterior received a multi-year, ultra-slick Ceramic Coating for better shine, depth, and easier maintenance and cleaning! Thanks Ashley!

Brand New 2026 redesigned Dodge Charger S**t Pack edition. 550 horsepower twin-turbocharged Hurricane engine.. New "Fratzog" illuminated emblems (throwback design originally from the 60's)... New 2-door body style....
But the same consistent results from SHINING ARMOUR. Deeper cleaning. Far more extensive and thorough prep. Meticulous polishing. And superior Coatings and results above what any dealership could possibly offer. Thank you for trusting this obsessive one-man shop 🙏. This mean muscle car looks so much better than "new" after leaving here! Thank you, Rex!

2022 Ram Longhorn Limited rolling out of the shop looking darker, deeper, and glossier than it did brand new almost 5 years ago. A deep clean, clay bar, and one-step correction were all completed on the black crystal pearl metallic paint before a multi-year, ultra slick & incredibly hydrophobic ceramic coating was applied for years of easy maintenance!

Another classic looking like an entirely different car after spending a few days in the Shining Armour shop! This custom, restored and lowered 1940 Chevy coupe from Arizona was given an interior refresh, and a dramatic 3-step polishing to the aged and swirled paint!

A heavy cut with the rotary polisher knocked out most of the swirls and defects, followed by a lighter cut and refinement polishing on the dual action polishers, giving way to a deep, rich, glossy black that's been hidden away for who knows how many years! A ceramic-infused wax was applied after for a slick, shiny hydrophobic finish!

The car will head back down to Arizona in the next couple weeks, and the owner hopes to take it for a drive down the legendary Route 66 on the way! What an awesome experience I hope that will be! Thank you again, Chad, for another epic car transformation 🙏

Another old restored classic resurrected back to life! A 3-step correction transformed the aged black paint to a whole new level of gloss, depth and shine to this 1940 Chevy Coupe! Photos coming tomorrow!

Another awesome Camaro in the shop to bring back and beyond to new levels of gloss, shine and protection! Heavy brake dust contamination led us to removing the wheels for a deeper clean and iron removal (and on the paint as well), while clay bar and 2-step polishing was completed on all the paint to bring about a smooth, deep & glossy swirl-free finish.

A leather coating was applied to the seats for added protection, and one of the most susceptible parts of the paint (the area in front of the rear wheels) was covered in paint protection film to prevent further rock chips and road rash. The film was installed and cut by hand, with wrapped edges into the door jamb. To finish everything off, a multi-year Ceramic Coating was applied for increased depth, and insane slickness and gloss! Thank you Joe and Sheena for another awesome project!

“Do you still do interior detailing?”

I’ve been asked this a number of times lately, and the answer is yes, I certainly do and have been doing plenty of them! I just haven’t been posting them much, not only due to a lack of time, but also to show the kind of next-level work that sets SHINING ARMOUR apart.

With more and more detailing options popping up every single spring and summer, I’ve continued to keep building this business on services reaching a level that hardly anyone else can offer, and require an obsessive mind and years of patient experience to get right. Our multi-step corrections, wet-sanding, ceramic coating knowledge, PPF installations, and yes, our premium interior detailing as well, separate us from the pack.

This business was specifically started for those smaller minority of customers who are extra-picky, unsatisfied elsewhere, and looking for a higher standard of work and results.. If that sounds like you, I encourage you to reach out at any time, or visit our website for additional information.

Another classic in the shop, and with only 28k actual miles on this 1990 Chevy 454 SS! This sweet truck (with a unique history) will be going up for sale soon if anyone is interested!

Only about 800 miles have been put on the truck since 1999! Being already very clean and rust free, a light cleaning was given to the engine bay, while the 37 year-old paint was the only thing in need of real attention.. and that's exactly what it was given. 2 and 3-step polishing was completed on every panel, removing old swirls, while maintaining as much of this original paint as possible (especially since it was already a bit thin).

After refinement work on the soft black paint, a deep, rich, show-car graphene-infused wax was applied, adding more depth, shine and life to this awesome truck. The owner plans to bring it to the final Cruise DL car show in the park next Wednesday! Thanks again, Paul!
