Clear your schedule for Saturday, September 5th! 🌊

It’s Florida’s license-free saltwater fishing day, which means you can drop a line from the boat or the shore without needing a recreational license or extra permits.

Just remember that standard bag and size limits still apply.

Starting a Cottage Food Business from your home in Okaloosa County is an exciting step, and we are here to help you get your Business Tax Receipt (BTR) properly set up! Whether you are rolling out homemade jams, baked goods, or confectioneries, here is what you need to know to get started:

SECURE YOUR BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT (BTR) - Head over to OkaloosaTax.com to file for your required BTR. If you are operating from a home in unincorporated Okaloosa County, a Home Occupation Permit Acknowledgment is required as part of the process.

REGISTER YOUR BUSINESS NAME (IF APPLICABLE) - If you plan to operate under a business name other than your legal first and last name, make sure to register it with Sunbiz (Florida Division of Corporations).

CHECK LOCAL CITY ORDAINANCES - If your business is located within city limits, check with your local municipal government for any additional local requirements that may apply.

CONFIRM COTTAGE FOOD ELIGIBILITY WITH FDACS - While our office handles your local BTR, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) regulates food safety, product eligibility, and operating guidelines.

We love our team’s dedication, but we might have taken “years of service” a little too literally. From day one to decades, see how our staff has grown up with us! Drop a comment if you recognize your favorite customer service rep!

Working 9 to 5 just got a whole lot brighter as we broke out the pink sparkles and cowboy boots to celebrate the queen of country herself. Dolly Parton teaches us every day that you can be fierce, successful, and endlessly kind all at once. Even Jolene would have a hard time stealing our spotlight today while we rock our best pink and spread a little extra joy to everyone who walks through the door. Come see us and share in the fun.
