This is why tires have an expiration date. These tires only have 12,000 miles on them. They are original tires on a 2004 Corvette that’s always stored and covered up in a garage. They were rock hard but looked great until my tire machine put the squeeze on them. They cracked like plastic. If this car had been taken on a road trip there’s a pretty good chance a tire would have failed and then possibly tear up the body of the car as hard rubber whipped the body when it came apart. The Corvette rides WAY smother and WAY quieter with the new much softer tires. Tires that are exposed to sunlight degrade much quicker.
