2009 Buick Lucerne with 55000 very well maintained, older adult car. Oil changed every 4000 miles, any repairs needed were done right away. Always in garage when not in use. Customer states I need an inspection. I put it on lift, inspected car, subframe holding lower control arm rotted. Customer needed it to be repaired to get inspection. Good Morning,
I would like to update everyone on the ongoing State Inspection saga. As of right now a bill was brought to the House of Representee's to end the need of New Hampshire residence to receive a yearly safety and emissions sticker.
The House of Reps did vote to pass this and it is headed to the State Senate for a vote. There will be a public hearing in committee in the next couple of weeks and then the Senate will vote on this bill sometime in the spring. Then the bill will need the Governor's final approval.
This does not mean that you are no longer responsible to get a State Inspection. The state law still applies to all New Hampshire residents to abide by. Even if and when this bill is passed, actions will not be immediate. It will take time and we would be looking at a 2026 start if it passes.
So, Please continue the process until it's fully ruled on.
